Katie Stagliano

The Inspiring Journey of a Young Girl Feeding Thousands

At 9, Katie planted a cabbage seedling for a school project.  That small seed would start a movement to feed thousands.

Katie’s cabbage grew to 40 pounds and fed 275 people at a local soup kitchen.  This sparked an idea that changed everything.

Inspired by her cabbage, Katie wondered: "What if more kids grew gardens to feed the hungry?"  And so Katie’s Krops began.

Katie started her own garden and donated the food to those in need.  Soon, she wanted kids across the U.S. to join in.

Today, Katie’s Krops has over 100 youth-run gardens across the U.S., all dedicated to fighting hunger.

Katie faced hurdles like failed crops and learning to run a nonprofit, but her determination kept her going.

Katie’s Krops has provided over 50,000 meals, helping countless families with fresh, healthy food grown by kids.

Katie’s work has been recognized worldwide. She’s received major awards and continues to inspire change through gardening.

Katie’s story shows how one person can make a big difference.  She inspires kids everywhere to grow gardens and fight hunger.

Katie’s dream is to have a Katie’s Krops garden in every state, continuing to feed and inspire communities.
