Here’s How 2020 Was The Weirdest Year Ever

I bet we all are waiting for the year 2021 and hoping to be a part of the new normal. Many of us will admit that 2020 wasn’t our favorite year. There’s so much happened this year from the global pandemic to the global movement of racial justice. It wasn’t just the virus to hate about the year 2020. But the question is,

Will things are going to work pretty well next year? Is 2021 will be the expiration year of Coronavirus? or will everything get back to normal again? Well, it’s good to look for the silver lining. But before that Here’s how 2020 was the weirdest year ever.

Maybe 2020 just suddenly passed or Maybe it was the longest year we had

If I just talk about only starting 2 months of 2020, then perhaps it feels like at least 2 years ago. There’s so much happened that every country has its own 2020 rewind.

But for many of us it just suddenly passed who spent their entire lock-down all alone and have nothing to do except washing hands again & again.

Maybe 2020 was the year that separated us or Maybe it was the year that brings us even closer

Even if the social gathering isn’t allowed and we have to maintain social-distancing from everyone else around, still we saw communities coming together which is a good sign for the future.

We get more close to our family. We saw neighbors doing things to help each other whether singing a song from a balcony or doing shopping for the needy. And maybe you’ll find have a better relationship with all those around you.

Maybe we’ll celebrate that we came this far or Maybe we won’t for the ones that we lost

Some really bad & weird things went down in 2020. The virus isn’t the only thing to be blamed. But as the new year is just a day away, the last of 2020 might be the full-on celebration all around the world.

Or, Perhaps the new year celebration won’t happen this year out of condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.

Maybe it was the year that ceased us or Maybe it gave us a chance to explore something new

Despite refrained from most of the human activities you’ll see that lock-down actually helped a lot of people in finding their new skills and capabilities.

Even if, isolation puts people into stress & depression, still a lot of us have found new skills and new things to do. Some folks spent time fixing their houses, other’s gardening, and cooking.

Maybe it was the year of terrific wildfires & climate change or Maybe it has made humanity cleaner

Just 2 days in and the world caught fire. How did we not see this coming? Whether it’s Australia or Amazon we witnessed devastating wildfires and bizarre climate change activities all around the world.

Still, NASA satellites and analysts showed that air pollution levels dramatically dropped in major polluted countries. With less human activity in the world, the air got cleaner which is going to save thousands of lives.

Maybe we’re facing the worst Economic crisis & Unemployment or Maybe yes, we’re facing it (No exceptions)

2020 Economic crisis believed to be the worst recession since the Great Depression. Is 2020 jinxed or what? People losing their jobs at an astonishing rate. There is a significant rise in mental illness, alcohol use & poverty rate.

However, the report of the World Economic Forum ‘Future of Jobs‘ estimates that 54% of all employees need new skills by 2022. So, those who learned something new other than fixing houses & cooking might get the benefit here.

Even the tech companies and startups came up with new ideas of all new trends whether to help you stay connected or anything that facilitates. So it might possible that the future holds something great.

Maybe 2020 was the worst year we had or maybe it was much better than other Pandemics era

If you can turn back the time you find that this wasn’t the only Pandemics that humanity has to go through.

History shows that there was a much worse pandemic already happened, whether it’s the Spanish flu of 1918 aka “Mother of the pandemic” that took over 500 million people and responsible for 5 crore deaths(approx), or whether it’s World war that let millions of people die in starvation and hunger.

We should be thankful that this time we have much better medical facilities and equipment (but I’m still not sure about World war).

Maybe this year has covered our faces or Maybe it showed us the real faces

Wearing a mask might be the precaution until the cure is revealed, but this trend was nothing new for highly polluted countries. The only difference this time was that we spent the entire year covering our faces and sitting home.

But not all got this lifetime opportunity to laying down on the bed to save the world.

You might know that actually a lot of good people have been doing good things for people. Study shows that the number of people to be volunteered dramatically increased worldwide this year. Medical workers aren’t the only heroes in the house, those people should also be recognized for humanitarian work.

And yep,

this all happened in just one year. Isn’t it weird? It is. We did it we’re officially a part of weird history. Now I really want a movie or a video game based on 2020.

If you are still looking for more silver lining out of the dark cloud of 2020 then I would like to say that possibly personal hygiene will be a part of the new normal. People will not sneeze on other people’s faces again.

Now, what do you think, Is 2020 was just a tutorial? or, will 2021 surely be a great year?

By the way, are we going to scream Happy New Year or JUMANJI this new year’s eve?

  • 2020 was really messed up but we give God the glory for our lives. It was a year with lots of expectations worldwide but turned out to be really disastrous. For me, this year was a year to discover and learn new things especially since I became closer to my lord this year. I pray 2021 will be better. Amen!

    • I pray 2021 will be the great year.Amen! But I'm happy you find your silver lining this year.
Happy New Year. God bless us.

  • Great recap Ritish! I almost forgot all of it until you reminded me. 🤣 fun read. Always positives come from these bleak times. Nice summary!!!1 👏👏👏👏 Cindy

  • Wonderful overview of a VERY weird year, Ritish! I think 2021 may be a wild ride, but there is a lot of hope on the horizon for an end to the pandemic. Maybe we will remember some of the lessons 2020 has taught us, and we will bring about a new era of social justice and unity. It should be interesting! :) Best wishes to all of us for a brighter future! <3

    • I'm too waiting for the new normal. May our hopes will succeed next year.
      Happy New Year Cheryl.
      Best wishes.

  • Yes, you are right people are close to their families.
In my case, I would say that, I was in my home but I I had started reading novels and thus it increased my reading ability and thinking and now feeling confident in English language. I also learnt humanity in my life.

    • That's what I'm talking about. It's so great you learnt something new out of your regular schedule.

      And, Happy New Year.🙂

  • Maybe 2020 has taught us that our time on earth is inevitably short but now we can appreciate each breath of life we take now in yogic bliss.

  • The "New Normal" as you have stated it, will be more of a curse against humanity than a relief.
The forces that be are not caring for your well-being, but more for the end of the so-called "over population" belief system that shall be dealt with through the "guise" of a vaccination....which is meant for the "decrease" of world population.
Only the Lord, along with His True children, knows what will be occurring in 2021, and since I am one of His children born of His Spirit, it is not good for those who are NOT His Children. It is a time when there are leaders in this world that call evil.....good.....and those standing for good......are labeled evil......

    • I respect your views regarding 2021.
And I agree with your take about the leaders.
Buy honestly, I don't understand what you said about "decrease" of world population through vaccination. Would you please elaborate?
Is that your theory about it?

      • NO that is not my theory, that was information that I watched from a Bill Gates "TED Talks" series he did some years ago. Where he states that vaccinations will help to decrease the World Overpopulation.....it came right from this fascists mouth. His Father assisted in the Eugenic's Program which was started during the Hitler regime.....
I hope that helps....you can find this TED talks on U tube. I did about 3 or 4 yrs back.

        • Oh! Alright Thankyou for elaborating. I'll watch it. I need some more context here.
I just thought something else, but thankyou for giving your time. Have a good day.

          • Unfortunately taking that type of "grayish view" does not help persons whatsoever, and I must say is rather a cop out on facing realities based upon facts and not false "speculation". You do not assist in helping humanity with "perspective". Actually it's either black or white, anything that tends to be "grayish" is not to be trusted.

          • It's not about a specualtion or a perspective. You must agree that people have different ways of thinking.
So to speak with absolutes sometimes isn't right. You never know what you are missing.

          • I can understand this from a non believer's view, but still disagree, because I only think in objective, not subjective absolutes. I never except anything that is in the "gray" area.
"Let your yes, be yes, and your no be no, anything in between tends towards evil"
Those are my Lord's words, and therefore I only base everything on what He teaches me. He gives me the Grace to do so.
Mat 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
I can not force you to believe so, and would not dare to do so. We each make our own statements according to our "belief systems".
I am a strong supporter of Separation between Church and state. The true Body of Christ, those who are born from above by the Spirit of the Lord, should not entangle themselves in the affairs of this world. And what I mean about that is, that the so-called "fake" Christian world has no authority to force unbeliever's to live a moral Godly life, because it has NEVER worked and they will not be able to do so for a long period of time. It's just not in the "heart" of man to do so.
I appreciate our discussions. Thank you......

          • I respect you and your belief. And I really appreciate it. I do have utmost belief and faith in God. But as for this discussion, all I can say is that I’ll definitely read about this and will go through some context. I need some time.

I’m really glad we held this conversation. Thankyou

          • My pleasure.....
If you read some of my articles I've posted on my blog beginning with my testimony, and other postings, this may help you in understanding from where I am coming from and it may assist you in understanding who and what the One True God is all about and how He, the Lord Jesus Christ saves us from our sins, even if we are not aware of what our sins are, He shall reveal them. Because in Him there dwells no darkness, and where there is no darkness there truly is a wonderful and Holy Love beyond our expectations!
Thank you......and May the face of the Lord reveal Himself to you, and make His face shine upon you dear friend.

  • 2020 was really just the craziest year ever but hopefully 2021 will be a little better. Happy New Year!

  • 🤩🤩you made some valid points about 2020 and also, the photos are funny! 😂😂

Especially the Tom and Jerry one

  • What a positive spin for a potentially wasted year. But I agree: was it wasted? Or was a lot done? A lot changed. Maybe for the better. A lot of suffering and deaths--the worst part--but maybe we all did grow, in a small or large way. Thanks for the upbeat outlook!
