Being traditional is not rule centric. Itās root centric.

INDIA, well nothing much to say about it, cause there is no book in the world that wholly defines this country and Indian-tradition. Itās home to one of the oldest cultures and traditions to amaze you and to define your soul. The soul of this country resides in its people and their traditions. But here the story gets fade when we get to know that we are losing our own traditions āintentionallyā. So here we bring some facts and science behind popular Indian traditions which youāre ignoring. Because we need you to know our roots.
India is known for its diversity. It is the home to a vast number of cultures and traditions. The secular nature of Indian soil has allowed various religious beliefs to flourish freely over the years. For every few hundred kilometers that you travel on Indian soil, you will encounter a whole new culture.
There are some facts about our traditions which we used to do but may not aware about it.
Not only Hindu but a non-Hindu also apply tilak in his life. Tilak is applied to the center of our eyebrows, it is a spot that is considered to be a nerve point in the human body since ancient time. It prevents the loss of energy and the red kumkum helps to retain energy and control our concentration.
Mangalsutra is defined in a Sanskrit term āMANGALā means prosperous, blessed,Ā etc. and āSUTRAā means a thread. mangalsutra is made of 108 (an auspicious number) fine cotton threads twisted together and dyed yellow in saffron or turmeric and gold which stung in the center.
SIGNIFICANCE: MangalaĀ is also the name of the planet Mars, whose color is red, same as the auspicious garment color worn by Hindu brides. Because of this association, itās common to use coral gemĀ (manga)Ā that is sacred to Mars. Mangalsutra chain is made of black glass beads. It is said to repel the evil eye.
It is the method to greet someone in our culture but now handshakes have taken over this. Joining both hands together ensure touching the tips of fingers together which are linked to pressure points in the eyes, ears, and mind. Pressing them together is said to activate these and helps us to remember that person for a long time, and it also helps us to prevent chronic disease by not shaking their hands.
These rings wear on the second toe, particularly nerve connects the uterus and passes to heart, so a toe ring strengthens the uterus, keeping it healthy by regulating blood flow to it. Womenās menstrual cycle is also said to be regularized.
We often wear kadha and bangles like in men, may the astrologer suggest or in the female, the married women used to wear for the betterment of her husband or it can also be the identity of married women ..there are a lot of benefits of wearing bangles and kadha.
Normally the wrist portion is in constant activation of any human. Also, the pulse beat in this portion is mostly checked for all sorts of ailments. The Bangles used by women are normally in the wrist part of oneās hand and its constant friction increases the blood circulation level.
Furthermore, the electricity passing out through outer skin is again reverted to oneās own body because of the ring-shaped bangles, which has no ends to pass the energy outside but to send it back to the body. Also, there are supposed to be some pressure points in the wrist area which helps in maintaining hormonal balance. This is the main reason why even many men wore some bangle like accessories e.g. kadha .
Getting nose pierced is one of the important customs in India. Nowadays its become a trend, apart from knowing its benefits.
Nose piercing on the left nostril helps in reducing pain during the periods in women. It is also said that the left nostril is associated with the reproductive organs of the female which eases childbirth and also minimizes the pain at the time of the babyās delivery.
Although from religious perceptive:- at the time of wedding girls pierced their nose to honor goddess parvati.
Same as nose piercing the ear-piercing also has several health benefits for men and women both.
Piercing the ears will help to circulate the blood in a proper way. Proper blood transmission to the brain will help to increase the memory power
The middle of the ear is helpful in immunization and also it is beneficial in both the men and women by solving the problem of the irregularity of menstruation, it is also beneficial in men for generating sperms.
These all are the scientific reasons or the science behind popular Indian traditions that we all follow from ages but donāt know their true value. Itās a gold treasure that we have and should be proud of.
But One questions is still remained unanswered.
IĀ hope that more people will come to realize the value of our traditional ways and culture because this is something we should take pride in and we should protect it from getting lost and forgotten.

Very true tisha ,,but somehow in this modern era these things are vanishing..and thankyou very much ā¤for liking my post
I feel that every age old tradition has a scientific explanation behind it, the ancestors didnāt know the laws of relativity, but they were well aware of the powerful mysteries of nature, and we all know science is all about nature and its phenomena. I feel the orthodox views which were based on superstitions and lead to social evils, should be discarded, but the ones, which actually are beneficial in life, which have meaningful roots seated in our culture, should be adapted by us. Great Post indeed! Thanks for sharing. š
Im glad that you like my postā¤ and such a beautiful comment encourages me to write more,,ā¤ and ur right Tisha, our ancestors didn't know the relativity but the tradition they follow somehow beneficial for us

So, if bangle wearing has the same benefits for men and women, why is it that some might classify a non-bangle wearing woman as 'against Indian traditions' while it is Ok for a man to not wear one?
Actually, Indian tradition is more complex than any other part of the world. Everyone holds their own opinion. Even I also believe that there is nothing wrong if woman doesn't wear bangles. It's upto you, if you know your roots or science behind it, only than you realise that how beneficial our tradition is.
Dear mr ankur, india has vast variety of traditions and culture, in every 2 km u will find temples and different accent/language so that is the cause some people wear or some not, basically married women used to wear bangels.š„thanks for your feedbackš„

You're seeing this a lot, but I too thank you for this interesting information. So many traditions & beliefs of other lands are precious in their own rites. I hope there are youths in every country to carry on the torch, so to speak, of their ancestors' knowledge & the reasons things are as they are and why traditions have been practiced. Aside from my thinking the sari, the many dresses, henna (also seen elsewhere), & the jewelry very beautiful, I sensed, rather, I knew there are ancient reasons, but had not as of yet researched the reasons. May the beauty of India live on in the good people there.
Thank you for expressing your appreciation for the diverse traditions and beliefs of other lands. It's heartening to see the recognition of the value in preserving ancestral knowledge and cultural practices. We hope the youth in every country continue to carry on the torch of their ancestorsā wisdom, ensuring the rich heritage thrives and flourishes for generations to come. May the beauty and goodness of India endure through its people.
