<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are days when nothing extraordinary happens, and yet everything feels just right in a quiet, ordinary way. The coffee tastes exactly how it should. The inbox is not threatening your existence. You manage to write something without immediately questioning your life choices. For a brief and fragile moment, you exist peacefully inside your own head.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And then your brain clears its throat.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Umm&#8230; remember that slightly awkward thing you said that one time?”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You don’t even know which time yet. That’s the beauty of it. Your brain keeps a fully catalogued archive of every socially questionable moment you have ever lived through, and it is more than willing to reopen the files.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In under thirty seconds, your perfectly fine mood has been escorted out of the building.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">

</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step One: Take Something Completely Neutral and Make It Emotional</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Let’s begin with something harmless.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You send someone a message. It could be about dinner plans, a manuscript, or simply, “Sure, that works.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They reply with one word:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>“Okay.”</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now, in a rational universe, this means agreement. Acceptance. Forward movement.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But you and I do not live in that universe. Instead, you stare at the word as if it contains hidden Morse code.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You begin to question tone, punctuation, and emotional temperature. Was it a warm okay or a reluctant one? Did it arrive too quickly, suggesting indifference? Too slowly, suggesting hesitation? The absence of an exclamation mark suddenly feels less like minimalism and more like a warning.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Within minutes, you are no longer responding to a word. You are responding to the story you have quietly built around it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The mood you were enjoying a moment ago begins to thin.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step Two: Expand the Narrative Beyond All Reason</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Once the initial doubt enters, your brain does what it does best &#8211; it escalates.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It does not simply analyze the present moment; it projects entire futures based on microscopic evidence. It constructs possibilities with such confidence that you begin to mistake them for probability. What started as “Okay” slowly evolves into “Something is off,” which then grows into “This could change how they see me,” which, if left unattended, eventually becomes “This is how distance begins.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you are a writer &#8211; and I know many of you are &#8211; this step happens with alarming efficiency. You are trained to notice subtext, to sense tension in silence, to read meaning into pauses. Unfortunately, your brain does not switch off this skill in real life. It treats everyday conversations like drafts of a novel, scanning for conflict where none may exist.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Someone delays responding to your blog post. You interpret it as judgment. A manuscript receives fewer comments than usual. You interpret it as a decline. You reread your own paragraph from last week and wonder how you ever convinced yourself it was coherent.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Your imagination, which once served your creativity, now quietly collaborates with your anxiety.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And all of this unfolds before lunch.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step Three: Recruit the Past as Evidence</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Overthinking never travels alone. It always brings history along for reinforcement.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Your brain, ever thorough, begins flipping through old mental files. “Remember that conversation where you might have sounded dismissive?” it asks. “Remember that time someone misread your tone?” It pulls memories that were peacefully archived and replays them in high definition, adding new commentary with the benefit of hindsight.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I once sent a message that simply read, “Sure, sounds good.” It was efficient, polite, and complete. Within ten minutes, I had convinced myself it might have sounded cold, possibly detached, perhaps even mildly irritated. I considered sending a second message filled with excessive warmth and unnecessary emojis just to rebalance the emotional scales.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I did not send it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But I did compose it in my head several times, revising punctuation and enthusiasm levels as if it were a short story competing for publication.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is how quickly a calm mind becomes a courtroom, and you somehow play every role at once &#8211; the defendant, the prosecutor, and the judge who is disappointingly strict.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="676" height="451" data-attachment-id="11782" data-permalink="https://theblogera.com/how-to-ruin-a-good-mood-in-under-30-seconds/stop-overthinking/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?fit=1536%2C1024&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="1536,1024" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-title="stop overthinking" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?fit=676%2C451&amp;ssl=1" src="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=676%2C451&#038;ssl=1" alt="how to stop overthinking" class="wp-image-11782" style="aspect-ratio:1.4992888417882142;width:741px;height:auto" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=600%2C400&amp;ssl=1 600w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=945%2C630&amp;ssl=1 945w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?resize=150%2C100&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?w=1536&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/stop-overthinking.png?w=1352&amp;ssl=1 1352w" sizes="(max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px" /></figure>
</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Writer’s Edition of Mood Sabotage</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For writers, there are additional premium features included in this mental package.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You publish something you feel quietly proud of. One person comments. A handful like it. The rest remain silent. Instead of appreciating the connection that did happen, your mind becomes fixated on what did not. Silence morphs into commentary. Lack of response becomes interpretation.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You compare your early draft to someone else’s tenth book and conclude that perhaps goat farming offers a more stable career path. You reread a sentence you loved yesterday and question whether you were temporarily delusional.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Writers do not simply overthink events. We overthink potential reactions to events that have not occurred yet. We revise conversations before they happen. We imagine interviews in which we answer brilliantly. We rehearse disagreements we win flawlessly.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is exhausting. And oddly impressive.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Slightly Uncomfortable Truth Beneath the Humor</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you’ve ever searched for <em>how to stop overthinking</em>, you already know the irony of trying to think your way out of thinking.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We do not ruin our moods because we are careless or dramatic. We ruin them because we care &#8211; about being understood, about not offending, about not failing publicly, about not repeating past mistakes. The brain believes that if it analyses every angle in advance, it can prevent embarrassment, rejection, or loss.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It cannot.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But it is committed to the effort.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In doing so, it pulls the past into the present and drags the future into the present until there is barely room left for the moment you were actually enjoying. The simple pleasure of a calm morning becomes overshadowed by hypothetical scenarios that have not asked for your attention.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And the irony is painful: we sacrifice present peace in exchange for imagined preparedness.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Efficient Methods to Ruin a Good Mood</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If overanalyzing tone feels too ambitious for today, there are quicker alternatives.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Compare your Chapter One to someone else’s Book Nine and decide you are behind in life.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Open social media immediately after feeling productive and measure your worth against curated timelines.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ask yourself, “Is this as good as I get?” while staring at something you completed with genuine effort.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Replay a minor awkward moment from years ago and assume everyone else remembers it as clearly as you do.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">None of these requires external crises. They require imagination and gladly you have plenty of that.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Perhaps the Most Radical Move</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perhaps the most ironic part of this whole system is that we often ruin good moments while trying to protect ourselves from bad ones.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We sacrifice peace in exchange for hypothetical preparedness.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And yet, the moments that truly shape our lives rarely announce themselves in advance. They do not ask to be overanalyzed. They simply happen.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So if you ever feel your mood slipping for no visible reason, there’s a good chance your brain has simply started rehearsing a future that does not exist.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is very good at that.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But maybe you don’t have to attend every rehearsal.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you want to ruin a good mood in under thirty seconds, overthink it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you want to keep it, let one thought pass without cross-examining it.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Just one.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For writers especially, that might be the most rebellious act of all.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Is there anything that you have been thinking about too much and for too long now? Perhaps the most important decision of your life or might be just a normal thing that you&#8217;ve given much hype about unnecessarily, that you&#8217;ve lost control of it and now it causing a problem in your life, making you feel uncomfortable all the time even on your sleep and if you sleep somehow than on your dreams. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That hype is nothing but an overthought creation of your mind which we generally call overthinking. Here I&#8217;ll share some insights about the human mind and overthinking. Later I&#8217;ll discuss some simple ways to stop overthinking.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Before, let me say that thinking too much is completely normal, there&#8217;s nothing to worry about unless you make this a perpetual habit, which of course is bad. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="676" height="640" data-attachment-id="867" data-permalink="https://theblogera.com/wp-1600407850018-295794857/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?fit=900%2C852&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="900,852" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-title="wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?fit=676%2C640&amp;ssl=1" src="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?resize=676%2C640" alt="how to stop overthinking" class="wp-image-867" style="width:441px;height:417px" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?w=900&amp;ssl=1 900w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?resize=300%2C284&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?resize=768%2C727&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850018-295794857.jpg?resize=600%2C568&amp;ssl=1 600w" sizes="(max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px" /></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Worries are a part of life and we all are a thinkers. We have to think before each and every step we take in our life. Our Thoughts decide the path. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Many Thoughts a Human Mind Can Think?</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The human mind is so powerful. It holds the capacity to create and discover thousands of powerful thoughts. Experts believe that the human mind thinks between<strong> 30000-70000 thoughts a day</strong>, which means roughly around<strong> 1500-3500 thoughts per hour</strong>. Now, this is really powerful and insane. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Obviously, you might not always be aware of this endless thinking. But one thing you must know is that most of them are completely useless, unimportant thoughts that cross your mind and affect your quality of thoughts, concentration, and inner peace. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As Osho said<strong>, <em>&#8220;The human mind is a beautiful servant and a bad master&#8221;.</em></strong></p>

</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For instance, there is a strong chance that even if you&#8217;re reading this article then possibly your mind isn&#8217;t fully present here, you might be thinking about other things. Things like &#8216;What you said or did?&#8217;, &#8216;How you&#8217;ll perform at work, in relationships, at school or maybe you are overly concerned about something that is creating fear. And that&#8217;s how overthinking starts.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>English Philosopher James Allen wrote,</strong></p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A man thinks, so he is, as he continues to think so he remains.</p>
</blockquote>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Don&#8217;t stop thinking, watch all your thoughts but don&#8217;t get too close, and don&#8217;t give them too much attention otherwise, they&#8217;ll be stuck in your mind. Remain quiet. Because what if that thought is negative? A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts so he loses touch with reality.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now I&#8217;m saying this because I&#8217;ve experienced this in the previous couple of months. I was thinking about anything all the time. Firstly, I think I&#8217;m a kinda philosopher or something but that is definitely not the case. I got myself into numerous problems, and negative thoughts took over my brain. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="511" height="662" data-attachment-id="870" data-permalink="https://theblogera.com/wp-16004078503911669140141/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg?fit=511%2C662&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="511,662" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-title="wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg?fit=511%2C662&amp;ssl=1" src="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg?resize=511%2C662" alt="Overthinking" class="wp-image-870" style="width:409px;height:528px" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg?w=511&amp;ssl=1 511w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-16004078503911669140141.jpg?resize=232%2C300&amp;ssl=1 232w" sizes="(max-width: 511px) 100vw, 511px" /></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And later I discovered some simple and unique ways to get rid of these negative thoughts. Although the problems are still part of life. But these ways help you to remain calm and your mind healthy. I&#8217;ll tell you in a minute.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Begin With Self Acceptance</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Before you read further you must do a self-analysis. Ask yourself:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Are you thinking too much about every situation?</strong></li>

<li><strong>Are you thinking negatively?</strong></li>

<li><strong>Are you feeling alone or lonely?</strong></li>

<li><strong>Are you living your day in perpetual Anxiety?</strong></li>
</ol>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If that is the case then you must accept and admit it. You should know that you are struggling with overthinking disorder and anxiety. Because self-improvement begins with self-acceptance.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Do You Need to Stop Overthinking?</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Creates Fear</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We all know that fear steals all the great experiences of one&#8217;s life. Negative thoughts and anxiety carry the fear that crosses your mind every time you are overly concerned. I agree that fear is common, everyone has a fear of something. But for overthinkers, most fears are the creation of the mind. It is fear that lies. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Anxiety and Depression</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These are the common problems associated with the habit of overthinking. One can easily get anxiety issues if he overthinks too much all the time. Depression may be the consequence of being stuck in the past which creates unproductive thoughts. Although this may not always be the case.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Affects Decision-Making Ability</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Your positive and quality thoughts may get lost within your overly concerned mind full of unproductive and negative thoughts. It can clearly affect the ability of a person to make the right and quick decision making.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Makes You Uncomfortable</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Overthinking makes your mental fatigue as a result you may feel uncomfortable all the time even in your sleep. It degrades the mood and quality of life.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Insomnia</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is a chronic sleeping disorder that may cause stress and concerns which make your mind active even at night, making it difficult to sleep. This may result in a change in behaviour, confusion, and poor coordination.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Affects Relationship Negatively</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="676" height="400" data-attachment-id="871" data-permalink="https://theblogera.com/wp-160040785049364636642/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?fit=940%2C556&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="940,556" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-title="wp-160040785049364636642.jpg" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?fit=676%2C400&amp;ssl=1" src="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?resize=676%2C400" alt="Man thinking meme" class="wp-image-871" style="width:565px;height:334px" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?w=940&amp;ssl=1 940w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?resize=300%2C177&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?resize=768%2C454&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-160040785049364636642.jpg?resize=600%2C355&amp;ssl=1 600w" sizes="(max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px" /></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perpetual overthinking makes your mind restless. It can disturb a healthy relationship. You may feel alone or lonely. That&#8217;s why it is advised that don&#8217;t let your thoughts go out of control.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I must say that if you want to get rid of these overthinking habits then <strong>Meditation, Yoga, and Excercise</strong> are still the best way among all ways out there. It helps you to look deep down into who you are and how things are going.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">However, these 8 ways I tried by myself and it really helped me and I think you must try them too. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">8 Simple But Effective Ways to Stop Overthinking</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Stop Judging Yourself</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As you know now the Human mind is a beautiful servant and a bad master. Most of the thoughts you think are negative. You should not overlook the negative judgment coming from yourself. Failure in one situation doesn&#8217;t mean that you are a failure in general. Don&#8217;t believe your negative thoughts instead focus on the positives about yourself. Find new ways to deal with things.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Don&#8217;t Feel Alone</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you feel that you are alone and you think too much about it, then you really need to know the difference between Being Alone and Being Lonely. Because being alone doesn&#8217;t always mean only sadness or hatred. Alone or lonely may not be the same chapter.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Recently we posted an article about Alone and Lonely and that got a huge spike among the readers, which clearly shows how much people are concerned about themselves. We suggest you read <a href="https://theblogera.com/are-you-alone/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Are you alone?</a></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Focus on &#8216;What Is&#8217; Instead of &#8216;What If&#8217;</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="644" height="512" data-attachment-id="869" data-permalink="https://theblogera.com/wp-1600407850306-72732956/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?fit=644%2C512&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="644,512" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-title="wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?fit=644%2C512&amp;ssl=1" src="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?resize=644%2C512" alt="Ways to stop overthinking" class="wp-image-869" style="width:442px;height:352px" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?w=644&amp;ssl=1 644w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?resize=300%2C239&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/theblogera.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/wp-1600407850306-72732956.jpg?resize=600%2C477&amp;ssl=1 600w" sizes="(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px" /></figure>
</div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Try to reduce the <strong>&#8216;What If&#8217;</strong> scenario. Although it&#8217;s good to think about future consequences and prepare yourself much before. But again don&#8217;t get overly concerned about it. Take a break.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Putting more focus on &#8216;What Is&#8217; means trying to learn new things and gain more knowledge about your field. Maybe sooner or later it&#8217;ll help you. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Realize that the Future is Unpredictable</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Thinking about the future all the time is unproductive. We all know that we can&#8217;t predict the future, so no one knows what the future holds for them. Being overly concerned about something is a waste of time. Do something productive that gives you joy and helps you in the long run.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. Talk to Your Loved Ones Without Hesitation</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is one of the best ways to relieve your overly concerned mind. Talk to people who are close to you and trust you without hesitation. Sharing thoughts with others reduces the burden that the brain is carrying for so long. It&#8217;ll provide relief that your loved ones care for you. It&#8217;ll also help in building up a strong relationship and trust.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">6. Spend Time With Your Pets</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you own a pet then it&#8217;s really good for you. Spend some quality time with your pets, and take a walk with them. Their unconditional love will make you forget every concern or unnecessary thought you are holding on to. And you are all they have. So, it&#8217;ll be really good for them too.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">7. Watch Some Quality Movies</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Watching quality movies will make you feel better. My recommendation is always for Science Fiction movies. Sometimes a character in a movie scene helps you to understand yourself better. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s Cinema Therapy. People watch movies just for the sake of watching but for some people, it can change the way of think, and feel. It gives you a break from whatever is bothering you. Stories offer us a different perspective and help us understand and make sense of the world.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">8. Plugin Your Earphones</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If something is bothering you and you are overthinking about it then just simply plug in your earphones and forget all the worries around you for a while. Listen to meditational and calm music and you&#8217;ll find yourself releasing stress through the power of music.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are a lot of other ways that you can do like writing down your positive thoughts, changing your environment, taking a healthy sleep, putting things into perspective, acknowledging your success, and Being Grateful.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Overthinking</strong> can happen to anyone that is why you must control it before it controls you. Don&#8217;t fall for the substances that seek to numb the mind and help you forget everything. We buy things for a materialistic boost of happiness.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Instead, you can adopt these simple but effective ways to stop overthinking and turn your negative thoughts and stress into something useful and productive.</p>
