I was even enthralled listening to the whole Nordic lullaby – quite haunting and beautiful photography. I live in a warmer climate now, but you took me right back to Chicago, the short days, snow and plenty of fires. I’ve watched Lord of The Rings many times, but I can only do it in December or January. It isn’t even close to setting the mood if I watched it in June, haha.

Winter seems to be a more productive time for writing probably due to the fact that there’s less going on but also, no garden to tend to, or simply a less comfortable outdoors in which to spend time.

Two books with winters scenes that come to mind are Snow Falling on Cedars and Bear Town.
