Superstition Story

Heya, folks hope all you are following well this lockdown period and doing work from home, not going outside and everyone is keeping themselves safe from PANDEMIC CORONA. I know everyone is getting bored. Nothing to do. But we’ll soon get out of it. Till then let’s share our thoughts and stories to know each other better. I have a Superstition story for you, about my personal experience during this lockdown which I think everyone should know, that how the blind faith/superstition can harm someone’s life and I have a lot of questions regarding this.

Is it above science?

Is it more than medicine?

Is god teaches us to do this?

I’m going to tell u about my worker at my village, he is from Behri, Uttar Pradesh and living here from the past 10 years. He is a daily wage earner and used to work in my land to feed his family, on 4th day of lockdown he came to me for help when her wife was so serious and didn’t even eat a pie for a previous couple of days.

Actually, he came to arrange a vehicle so that he could go to his village and then I and my brother insist on him and took her to the hospital when her reports went for testing and the result shocked my mind.

The report shows that she was suffering from tuberculosis from the last 5 years and she was also a diabetic patient. She only has half working lung remaining, and her sugar level was at 475 points when I asked him how this happened why didn’t he came to the hospital earlier? and why didn’t he inform me earlier?

You won’t believe me, his answer was more heartbreaking than her wife’s health condition. He was treating her under the guidance of untrained doctors, superstitions beliefs and has spent around 4 lakh from his pocket, which included 100 of chicken offering, more than 10 goat and pigs and dozens of expensive sarees and thousands of rupees.

Now tell me…
Is that is more than medicines? Is they are not murder? Not only of animals but of human beings also? Who is responsible? The dumb superstitions or illiterate?

I will call them a MURDERER because they are not less than that. The murderers have taken 1000 lives without attacking them. They usually play with their minds and initially try to win their trust and end up taking all the things from them. And used to target illiterate, mostly of rural areas but unfortunately, the poor also get trapped. They ask for money, essential goods, animals offering, and sometimes human offerings also.

This type of practice has been seen in the Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and other Indian states too because of less education and lack of awareness. The common practices u might have seen are :

  • 1. Hanging a lemon on the verandah to save home from the evil eye.
  • 2.wait for a while if a black cat crosses your path.
  • 3. Don’t have a hair cut, or nail cut on Tuesday and Saturday whether you are going to punish at school.
  • 4. Wearing black thread on right ankle chanted by the #murderers.
  • 5. Believing that someone has done Kala Jaadu (Black Magic) to you whether he knows you or not.
  • 6. Don’t travel on moon days(Amavasya)
  • 7. People do not sweep their house at night, otherwise, Lakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity will leave the home, they think. Actually, this was to avoid missing small valuable things while sweeping when there was no electricity in the older days. But the tradition is still continuing.
  • 8. Matching the horoscope before marriage is compulsory for their happy life. But ironically after a while, they may get a divorce.
  • 9. 786 an auspicious no for the Muslim community and 3 number is the inauspicious number for orthodox peoples.

All these useless habits are provoking the #murderers to loot more innocent people. And these are just a few mentioned beliefs. We have an ocean full of such kind of beliefs. But trust me there is no science behind that.

WITCH HUNTING

It is associated with middle age but in some parts of India is still in operation. MOB lynching often sees in several areas of India where 100 of people lost there lives.

Here is complete information

Anti-superstition bill

It is good news that the state governments are taking action against the murders or the superstitions to safeguarding the innocent public:👇

Kerala to bring Anti-Superstition bill

Now, what could be the solution to the problem? We can organize awareness programs but the problem is that the young politicians will do politics more than helping them.

One good news is that my worker’s wifey is better and thankfully her health is improving daily by medication..thanks to doctors #godonearth. But I was thinking what if she couldn’t? Who would be responsible for that? And it is not only about her, Already millions of people lost their lives in the vicious circle of these superstitious beliefs and still counting.

Well, I am definitely not against anyone’s beliefs but I am strictly against the exploitation by the superstitions of innocent people. I recommend that there should be a penal section in the Indian penal code against them to stop these practices…And I want to know What you think about these things and what can be the possible solution? comment below👇

  • yeah there must be an IPC section against these fraudulent practices that are going from the past years....The promotion of these type myths and superstition Must be highly punishable ...The authorities must take action against them, and that can be only possible with the help of a law...this article is really an Eye-opener....

  • The blog is our personal thinking.
We Don't mean to hurt anyone's feeling.
But you should think about it..
    Where are we heading?

  • Education is so important. I know that if there is not enough this leads to people believing the sort of superstition you have mentioned here.
