Women deserve freedom to express themselves, there is nothing which can make us to stop.

ANONYMOUS

The above expression was used in the famous Instagram channel to narrate feminism in our country. According to them, putting allegations, showing cleavages, smoking/drinking in public, the late-night party are all integrated as feminism. Well, it’s their life, their choice who are we to judge? But some extra-minded people take the word feminism to a new height that may also claim someone’s life.

And I think just because of these people the word feminism is losing its originality. We are also a supporter of feminism but when it goes in the wrong hand, then it needs to be addressed.

Being a man I know these things and are not exactly what they are actually portraying. In just a few points I will try to clear the real image. And all these are my personal views regarding this fake feminism.

Meaning of Feminism

Before going further let us have a look at the real sense of feminism- “the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes” this means that women as equal to men and should be given equal respect, care, and opportunity against men.

Women should be treated equally in all aspects. They’re also the pride of any country and sometimes deserve even more respect than what they actually get from our society.

Here are some extraordinary girls describing what feminism actually is.

  • Kalpana Chawla an Indian astronaut
  • Pratibha Patil honorable former President of India
  • Sinha Nehwal and PV Sindhu both Olympic winners on Badminton.
  • Hima Das(India’s Golden Girl) Olympic winner and sprinter
  • Sarojini Naidu/ Durga Devi/ Rani Laxmi bai and many more.

They’re true pride in our country and will always be remembered for the work they’ve done to make us all proud.

But now my simple question is that have they ever asked about their freedom by blaming others and calling them perverts?

Is it really necessary to show cleavages, smoking/drinking, cheating, abusing elders who oppose them, and making a wrong image of feminism?

When Pseudo feminism become dangerous?

Photo by Flavia Jacquier on Pexels.com

My personal belief is that feminism should be promoted. In fact, all of us need to take a stand against the wrongdoings happening in our society that are oppressing women for a very long time. And every woman should be given equal chances to express their talent.

But this isn’t as simple as it looks. The term ‘Feminism’ has some different sides too, the dark side. The side that is intentionally generated by some extra and money-minded people. There are people out there taking feminism in the wrong way. The way that may claim someone’s life too. We all are supporters of women’s empowerment but when it goes into the wrong hands the result turns to disaster. Like a recent case of Gurugram when a 17-year boy committed suicide when a feminist girl alleged him against molestation.

When feminism becomes fake?

Female Symbol (Feminism)

Feminist words narrate the equality of women among others whereas pseudo-feminist asks for more and superiority among others, thinking other genders have no respect at all, basically, this is called Misandrist (which means Female> Male) not Feminist ( Female=Male). The major problem lies that pseudo-feminist always want to act like men and are busy finding flaws when opposed.

I do have some questions for the pseudo-feminist:-

  • Have they ever asked their mother to help in the kitchen?
  • Have they ever share there mensuration problems with their brothers?
  • Have they ever think about their father’s stress, because of the daughter’s security?
  • Have they ever think about the elders who really care about them?

We can’t judge anyone because we have no right to interfere with someone’s personal life. But make sure you are giving them equal opportunity. Just look at their pure heart, don’t stop them from drinking and smoking have booze with them, no need to give them career advice all the time they are self-reliant. But they should be empowered enough to know the difference between feminism and fake feminism. There’s a huge difference between Equality and Superiority.

This is my personal view and I’m not targeting anyone, but calling perverts and rapists by Pseudo Feminist to all men is something unfair and there should be a law for fake feminists against abusing/oppressing others and doing unethical activities.

And it’s good to hear that the Supreme court of India is now giving equal rights in the property of ancestors to the daughters too, and this is real feminism in my opinion. That is what I’m talking about. Hope you all get it.

What do you all think? Let us know.

  • ♡ I Totally Understand; yet there is a whiff of female subjugation here and, maybe, a lack of male accountability and responsibility for male urges

    …♡♡♡…

  • Nice post! I too wrote something along the lines for my blog! Feminism and psuedofeminism are too different things and its portrayal in our time is wrong!

  • Very well written. In my opinion, feminism is very much required in the society. Women should be given equal opportunity to earn what they want through hardwork. Just being a women does not make you worthy. Pseudo feminism creates a wrong impression and makes it harder to promote feminism

    • Indeed, there should be equal chance for women and its something to be noticed that anything which starts with feminism end up with being pseudo,,i can't find why this happen?

  • Well said… Many people took the meaning feminism in the wrong way…. Hope everyone can understand the true meaning of feminism 👌👌👌👌🤗🤗🤗hope your this blog helps people to learn it’s true meaning

  • I agree with views you have composited. Feminism in the mainstream has moved on from being a debate on equality between the sexes to the superiority of the female. This subset of people tout feminism as 'one size fits all' solution to all the social issues prevailing within societies.

Instead of celebrating their femininity and embracing the differences, they are on a spree to emulate the males and reverse the continuous existing social construct.

    • Well said hardik, it happens with every feminist that they start with being feminist but unfortunately end up being pseudo feminist, what the major problem i have observe that lack of clarity and due to some female celebrities wrong conduct of being famous has make this issue more serious.

      • The problem is they want to have it both ways. They say they are feminist which is equal rights to both genders but shy away from speaking about discrimination against males.
Just because someone is a celebrity or famous doesn’t mean they are the authority to speak on feminism,

  • Thank you for explaining pseudo-feminism, but I will have to look it up some more before I make an opinion. Great topic though Deepak!

  • Very well expressed!
I, like you, agree with what you are stating. The violent so-called feminism is just another form of "paying back" against what some men have done to women. It's called "revenge", but now it also is becoming exactly what they have been fighting against! They are now becoming abuser's of men and also women who will NOT agree with them!
They have become their own worse enemy..........those they have judged and hated, have now become exactly those they hate.
Person's seem to forget that evil not only dwells in the heart of men, but women are also just as evil......there is no difference in the eyes of the Lord.......
All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.......

    • Everything that started for a good reasons. Later turned into something evil. Still don't know why?
Women are the pride of country. They should be empowered. That's what feminism is.
But some extraordinary minded people take this in a wrong way.
The way that may take innocents life.

  • I have never heard of this thing Psuedo Feminism but think it would best be debated by feminists of all kinds and not people who have a preconceived notion of what a “feminist” is. A feminist is someone who believes that women and men are equal. Period. how they demonstrate that is up to them and not a moral issue. IMHO

    • Indeed ,’ by agreeing with your words pseudo feminism was not originated with feminism, it was transformed by some people who want to own the world, pseudo is something with is not acting like real means fake and the fake feminism is on peak::: and i am true supporter or feminism. But one must know the difference between Feminism and pseudo feminism.
      ..thanks for visiting 😊

  • Depak Joshi, Gender equality has come a long way all over the world. While I agree with most of what you say, I believe you cannot legislate morality.

Most people agree that smoking is bad for you and drinking too much is bad for you, whether you are a man or a woman. I don’t drink or smoke because I want to be healthy. Many other men and women are making the same healthy choices.

Different professions have different accepted ways to dress on the job for both men and women. People generally follow these types of guidelines, not because of laws, but because they want to succeed in their careers. Clothing choices in private life are a little trickier, but men need to be aware that “NO” means “NO” however a woman is dressed.

    All the best, Cheryl

    • Cheryl,, i agreed with your point but my point was not that. I was against the allegations that i already mentioned about 17 year boy commit sucide after the girl make rumors, wrong allegations and stand behind on feminism. I’m not into theirs personal life. And who am I to judge someone?

But i am against all those people who are misusing this golden law which is provinding them equal or more chances IMHO..
But i agree with your words………
      Deepak

  • This is a very tough subject and you’re brave to tackle it. I’m all for “girl power”, especially when it comes to brains. I think men and women think differently but are equally capable in the brain department, and in fact, their often approaching problems and/or solutions differently can be a big bonus and women need to be paid the same for the same job that men do.

But I’m not one who believes that women are equal to men across the board, which means physically, because we simply aren’t. So that can translate into job concerns. If I’m being carried out of a burning building by a woman, I’m gonna assume she’s been lifting weights and has the ability to perform on the same level as a guy, otherwise she shouldn’t be a firewoman if she’s not willing to put in that kind of training and body transformation (unless she’s already athletic and muscular and that kind of training comes easily to her anyway). The same goes for a fireman, of course, who’s gotten out of shape and isn’t performing equally to his coworkers. Please put him behind a desk, but whatever you do, don’t send HIM to drag me or a family out of a house, lol.

But in other concerns of everyday life, it feels like the feminism battle has gone way in the other direction almost into a kind of feminist fascism. This may be a natural state on the way to normalizing later, which will be better for everyone, because if feminism was born out of the dismissive and inconsiderate behavior of men toward women, it doesn’t behoove women to behave, now, in the same way that men were. Why become what you loathe? Someone said something similar above. It does feel like it’s turned into revenge and witch hunts now, and even though big changes do need to be made in the fight for equality, hate and anger isn’t the way, and women acting like men (in that they’re imitating the qualities in men that they didn’t admire previously) won’t solve the problem.

    • U beautifully portrayed feminism and i agree with your point that female can be equal with men in term of brain even they can work better perfect example is new Zealand prime minister.. her capability to tackel coronavirus is inspiration to all the world, and as you mention in last paragraph feminism was born to give equal rights but if feminist will use it to suppress men so it will be injustice to the law.
      Deepak

  • I don’t believe there is such a thing as “pseudo-feminism”. There is no wrong way to be a woman and there’s no wrong way to be a feminist – just maybe ways you don’t agree with.
Calling women “girls” and “divas” is a problem. Calling them “the pride of the country” is condescending.
Feminism is about equal rights, freedom, and the ability to choose. Feminism means bikinis are just as okay as overalls, and neither need be judged.
If you’re uncomfortable with women having sex, wearing certain types of clothing, or being overweight, that’s not a problem with women or with feminism, but a problem with you and it may be time to think about why you need to subjugate women in this way.

    • I think you took this post in a wrong way 🙄
This post isn’t against feminism. And who are we to judge someone? It’s their life, their choice.
We are simply saying that some extra minded people taking the advantage of these things things which needs to be stopped.
Don’t know about your country but in my country sometimes false allegations are being made in the name of feminism which unfortunately leads to death.
That is what he is talking about.
      You need to read again.

    • Hi Jay! Whatever you said might be because of some misconceptions and might be due to language and cultural differences as elaborated by Seliza Bryan here in this comment section.
But if you offended in anyway, we really apologise for that.
But one thing you must know that we aren't against feminism. We don't judge women. We was and will always support them the same way we support our sisters.

    • Hey jay ,,i am the writer of this blog and comes here to clarify some points which you take it wrong
      1. This blog is the crux of the Instagram video not my personal opinion. They trying to disobey men and putting allegations.
      2. I used diva , i am sorry for that word, i want to write devi instead which is used for goddess i india
      3. I am not against feminism instead i mentioned that feminism is good and we should all follow it and give them equal chances.
This all happen by my poor research i want to apologise for the misconceptions.

  • I understand where Jay's coming from, though, and I'll explain in a minute.

But first I'll say this: recently people were talking about a season of The Bachelor that happened several years ago starring Juan Pablo, the first Latino man to be the Bachelor, and he was basically called the worst Bachelor ever, a horrible man, and was completely vilified by the women with the backing of the show's producers and host. But in my opinion, all the problems stemmed from English not being his first language, communication issues, and the fact that as a Venezuelan he held different perspectives and values on reality than our traditionally held American ones. I think there's a direct correlation here with the blog writers and communication; ideas and concepts may not be coming out exactly as what they mean, and "English as first language speakers" may be taking it the wrong way.

This isn't to insult the blog writers and their English, either! Because I damn well don't know one word of the many different language groups spoken in the Indian subcontinent, so you're already well ahead of me and many others in that arena. :) Although I do speak (now) very rusty Spanish. :)

But like Jay said above, while it may not be demeaning in India to call women "girls", it's considered insulting in many other places in the world (similar to calling a black man "boy") but this is a cultural difference the writers may not have been aware of. More linguistical/cultural misunderstanding going on here, possibly.

And many people might take offense to phrasing like this: "Is it really necessary to show cleavages, smoking/drinking, cheating, abusing elders who oppose them, and making a wrong image of feminism?"
I know you were making the point of the wrongfully accused man, but the phrasing above seems to be asking
why are women showing cleavage and smoking and drinking in public? Here again, age-old cultural differences may be at battle here, since Americans and many others wouldn't blink an eye at women's cleavage, drinking, or smoking while of course there are still many traditionalists in your country who are probably against it. I might add there's even a few in the U.S. still.
I'm thinking it just came out wrong--how you phrased it--in trying to dissect where, exactly, things are going wrong in regards to any false accusations some women may be making against men or other possible negatives resulting from feminism being "abused" sometimes in some manner.

Lastly, one other example: "You need to read again dear" won't be taken very well by many folks, I gotta tell you.
But again, is it a language barrier? Did you actually mean "dear" in a nice way, a term of endearment? Because if you don't know Jay very well and you aren't friends, then signing off like that makes you seem extremely condescending and a little pissy that someone disagreed with you. You know what I mean?
I'm just saying these are the ways that misunderstandings may be happening, because my instinct is that you have open-mindedness, concern, and care for women, the rise in consciousness around the world, and you're trying to have an intelligent discussion about it.

    • Oh! Alright. People are misunderstanding what we are trying to say, just because of language and cultural differences.

We are really sorry if someone's sentiment hurt. But really we aren't against feminism. We were just trying to portraying the fact that how people are using feminism for their own benefits now.

This post isn't mean to insult anyone. Your thoughts might be differ from us and we respect that. But before reaching any conclusions you need to analyse what we are really trying to say.

And thankyou Seliza Bryan for elaborating this fact.
We'll definitely going to make some changes to this post, which will universally accepted. So that this misunderstanding won't rise again.

And for future post we'll try to clarify each and every thing and will do proper research before Posting any such things.

    • I am sorry seliza i am taking the credibility of misconceptions happening,, the sentences which i used and whatever i said that was just against the allegations putting by the some feminist to men ,, which usually happens but i didn’t mention anywhere that i am against feminism i just said fake feminism which is t
      Harmful in a true sense..
I also want to thank you u came in our support and take the right think which i want to say and i have made the changes already which can be universally accepted..
This blog was only for Indians because here culture is totally different as u know but i trully want that feminism should be applied because women are far away to prove themselves here.

  • It’s a tough topic; women have been at it here in the US for a long time. I’m not sure how long in other western countries, but probably also a while. But it’s a very touchy subject too; that’s why you got some strong push back for the word “pseudo” which readers understand as “fake”.
Still admire your knowledge of and engagement in English; like I said, I know nothing of your languages. 🙂
This must be a fairly new movement in India, then? How long have women in your country been engaged in the struggle for equality?

    • In india the situation of women are in mixed context. In some of the backward area they got married at the age of 18 because this is the minimum age set by the govt, I wrote to the PMO that the age should be increased to 21 and now govt is doing this,, in some places women are forced to hide their face when some elder arrives, but this is their own rituals i will comment on that,, this happens from the ages and nothing has changed much but some reforms have seen and women are also coming up and now showing their capabilities and talent.

  • What you describe as fake feminism can, also, have a political dimension. Not only can false allegations of sexual harassment be levied against public figures. Marxists routinely seek to pit one group against another — men v. women, whites v. blacks and Hispanics, rich v. poor, etc. — w/ class warfare their goal.

    • Exactly, the marxists have also put efforts in our country to make a hate against muslim and hindu majorities or they always try to bring negative image to intentionally create conflicts but reality is different we both respect each other religions. But again the main cause is political agendas.

  • Yeah, Anna makes a good point. False sexual allegations are just part of a continuum of behaviors surrounding popular movements/ideas/philosophies and those who use them to their own advantage instead of how they were meant to be used: for the good and betterment of all.

Also wanted to say, Deepak, very admirable that your efforts are helping get the marriage age raised from 18 to 21. You’re obviously very dedicated to the cause!

I understand that there are age-old beliefs and traditions, like those who have to conceal their faces from elders, and probably many others, and that’s part of the culture. If nothing much has changed for those and similiar situations, maybe it’s not “time” for them to change. Maybe people aren’t unhappy with the way things are. If people do eventually become very unhappy, change will probably naturally follow, motivated by those who seek a different way. 🙂

    • Thankyou seliza and i am also happy that government has started working on it, and i am agree with your points that, some old traditions and their believes are the cause of this chaos, and if you really wanna change in this world so you have to work rather than just thinking about it,,,

  • Big topic indeed Deepak. Just like what happened in India, in Nigeria we've got a case of a man accused wrongly of rape and he chose suicide. You know what baffled me? The lady who blamed him was completely unapologetic!

    • i am eternally grateful that you got my point , this topic does not seems very big in general for someone but this is a rising issue and if we will not stop early soon many of innocent will come under the trap of fake feminism

  • It’s so delightful to see posts by men telling women what is and what isn’t real or acceptable feminism. How would we know what to think or how to act without men telling us?

    • Its not about telling someone its a personal views not targeting anyone,,, its about wrong allegations not dominating women they are superior and will always be.
Don’t know why people are getting this wrong. I suggest you to read it thoroughly before commenting anything.

  • The term ‘Feminism’ is overused and often misunderstood. Though women have a long road to travel before gaining that equality and respect, as I can still see many patriarchal families around, I still see progress happening in that direction, though it is snail-paced.
I detest people who take liberties and bow down to any level to prove their superiority. I strongly believe in right parenting and if a man sees his father treating the women in his life with respect, be his wife/daughter, he would learn to respect women in his life.
    Good post👍

    • You mentioned very good point vivek , respect and education starts from our home. The feminism word is very debatable nowadays, its often seen that a person start with feminism but end up with being pseudo feminist..but u got the right point which we want to convey to the public.

      Thanks for visiting 😊

  • I think we can often get confused when a word means different things to different people. This may be because of culture or even experience. Feminism apparently believes in the equality of the sexes. For some it becomes excessive or prejudiced support of one’s own sex which is actually chauvinism. Any movement that is about taking power can move to this extreme. What we need to be encouraging is fair treatment and equal opportunity for all. Anything else hurts the weak and innocent. In my western country I am now encountering women who have only disdain for the weak. They see women who cannot work outside of the home as unintelligent and an embarrassment to the feminist cause. We are only seen as having value if we bring in a second income. We must leave the care of sick and handicapped children and elderly family to strangers and institutions. We are told that only doing what men do is proof of strength and intelligence. This is not true. We give our strength and intelligence to our children and the needy. Men who care more about money then children or the sick demand that women work outside the home. Women who dress to expose their bodies are also exploiting weakness. To live for self and to fight for ones own rights makes everyone sick. Both men and women need to look to each other’s rights and together hold the same purpose of caring for the weak instead of using their power to get ahead. Men can lead by example by showing women their own humility by caring for the weaker person and by being content with less money.
