Here’s How You Might Already A Genius

What If I say, that you are already a genius, you just don’t know or never realize it before? Would you believe me? Well, you should because you might be having these signs that already make you different than others around you.

What does Genius mean in general? Just being Intellectual? Having a higher IQ? Being productive? or Being creative and original? Science says there is no precise definition that can define genius. But there definitely are some traits to make an uncommon out of common qualities, that you might possess but aren’t self-aware of them.

We’ve all picturized a ‘genius’ in our own way. If you’re a story writer you may portray geniuses as both protagonists and antagonists. You may also think of your role model and favorite person when you heard of a genius. It might be different for different people. You can’t just define ‘Genius’ based on a level of intelligence and higher IQ, of course, they are a prerequisite, but it is way more than simply defining intelligence.

As is no scientifically precise definition, may also indicate that you may possess such qualities and skills that the world isn’t aware of yet, including you and perhaps that’s why you limit them just to yourself. And also feel uncomfortable talking about them. But if you realize and lift up the external pressure, then things become much clearer, it’ll all start to make sense.

You Are A Good Listener

Do you carefully listen to the people while in the conversation instead of thinking about what to say next? Possibly no, because we keep processing words in our mind to give an instant reply.

That’s why talking to a genius can be tricky, as they always listen first and can challenge your way of thinking, and then the words that you’ve processed become of no use. If you’re a quiet and careful listener, it indicates that you have exceptional qualities that most of us don’t possess.

You Assume Everyone is As Smart As You Are

This can be tricky, but it always remains a fact that dumb or less-skilled people always overestimate themselves whereas smart ones always underestimate themselves or sometimes even possess low-confidence perhaps they thought that if it was easy for them, then it was easy for everyone.

The more we study the less we know about it, the more you know the more you realize how much you don’t know. In scientific terms, it is called Dunning-Kruger Effect. It simply means that you might actually be smart but seeing others in confidence makes you assume that everyone is as smart as you are. One could ask How would I know- Am I Smart or Dumb? Here’s how,

You Are An Abstract Thinker

You’re specific and never satisfied with a single vague idea that sort of makes sense. Perhaps you listen to advice and ideas but you are well aware, that advice or Ideas may resonate with one person while it might not make sense to others.

We all are unique and at different stages of life and require different solutions. However, It’s good to listen to advice as they are offering perspective. But one must know that these are highly generalized statements. It doesn’t mean that if something work for others the same thing works for you too.

It depends on the situation you are currently living in. You must listen to other ideas and advice, as they’re offering you a different perspective, but always come back to the conclusion you yourself are living in. This shows that you know how to think outside of the box that ‘ordinary’ can’t.

You Enjoy Being Alone

If you truly know the difference between being alone and being lonely then you already know how to make the best out of your life. Both sound the same but have a huge difference that ‘ordinary’ possibly never realized.

Being alone doesn’t always indicate you are anti-social or introverted, it simply means you put your alone time to good and productive use. You have a different way of utilizing your alone time, rather than worrying that nobody cares for you.

You Are A Space Person

You think a lot about the universe and unknown things that don’t even exist yet and have a strange sensation about how significant and insignificant everything can be (Also watch Christopher Nolan’s movies). Being a space enthusiast, your mind is already wide open and ready to visualize things that no ordinary human mind is capable of.

It may sound a bit strange but if you think, you have that mind and interest in those things that are quite strange and philosophical, while for others it’s kind of pointless for now. This means you are already ahead of their time.

You Have Your Sixth Sense Of Humor

Humor is not childish, definitely not. It is way more than what you think it is. People say that being funny is definitely a quality that requires intelligence. The part where intelligence becomes correlated with humor is when a certain joke is cleverly crafted that it takes a person some time to know the exact wordplay.

Having a good sense of humor is a key ingredient in creative thinking. So, don’t hesitate to use your sense of humor. Not every people have that skills, if you have them make sure you utilize them to stand out in the crowd. I’ve previously written about the significance of having a sense of humor. You can read it here-

You Are A Productive Overthinker

Let me say, overthinking is completely normal unless you make this a perpetual habit. But one thing you should know is that the human mind is so powerful that it can think of 30000-70000 thoughts a day, but most of them are completely useless & unproductive.

If you are a productive overthinker and know exactly how to think then you might already be a genius. Being a genius doesn’t mean that you know the answer, it means you know a lot of questions and have the curiosity & passion to find the answers.

There are chances that you might stumble upon different answers that no one ever thinks about it before. This leads to new discoveries and inventions for the rest of the world. And I think that’s what genius does in general.

Not To Mention,

You may acquire a genius gene from your parents, that they’ve passed on to you. Scientifically say, a part of your intelligence comes from your genetics. Genes impact the way your brain is developed. It’s likely that if any of these traits your parents acquired are now yours. And you don’t realize it yet, but in time you’ll just know how much.

This might be a quirky thing to say, but if you love listening to soft background music, and loves creating a soothing ambiance around you while concentrating on something, then it might indicate that your mind is working perfectly fine and way more active than others.

The journey of being a genius starts with the self-awareness that how much you are capable enough. If one realizes this, one can be assured that he has plenty of potential for growth.

A Secret

You might have listened so many times that you are a daydreamer, you can do anything and the word ‘genius’ is thrown around all too cheaply. But In fact, the tag of a ‘Genius’ is uncommonly rare to get, until you perceive those dreams, ideas, or whatever and are able to connect all the dots.

In fact, a genius is not someone you see every day, and when you do, you won’t even notice them. As I said before, having a sign of intelligence and higher IQ is just a part of the genius, these aren’t conclusive that define genius, but these have very little to do with it.

But the saddest part is that your character and poles apart thinking often might not be recognized by people and even you, as a result of always trying to fit into the world. Perhaps it was your way of schooling, social pressure, or anything. Think about how often these people get laughed at the moment.

“It’s only you to recognize you.”

Michael Michalko, the author of the book cracking creativity says that the difference between Genius and Ordinary is that Genius simply knows how to think, instead of what to think.

Now, let us know what you think about it?

Anyways, these are just slightly different but special traits that not everyone possesses. That's why I included them.
As I said "you may possess such qualities and skills that the world isn’t aware of yet"
      So its hard to say.

Good to see you enjoyed this.

    ..
But I turly enjoy life he way I am.... And I truly enjoyed this post aswell!

    • You have pretty much good qualities. Its great that you recognize yourself.
I mentioned these points cause I think they are quite uncommon and perhaps the sign of something different.

Its likely you have different qualities (not mentioned here) that not everyone possesses. All you need to do is to recognize it.

      Thank-you for stopping by, Aadya.

  • I converted my post another job we loved to hate! into a podcast on anchor. I don't know if anyone will hear it or where it will light, I suspect on anchor. I just read it into my mike on my headset (not a great one) Next time I will practice a little before I hit okay. Thanks for thinking of it.

    • That's really good you are trying something different. Keep putting your knowledge to practice.

  • How we think determines what we think.

Let that sink in for a moment and really consider what that means.

Most of us think in a few different ways: musically, mathematically, emotionally, rigidly, and so on. So how do we learn to think in different ways about the same issue or topic - think in ways that can produce insight and deeper understanding and detect connections and patterns others miss?

Well, that's what a liberal arts 'education' used to be all about. And it produced waves of innovation and technology and advanced every facet of scientific and human inquiry. So a real education (not schooling) is not about job training or recall or high scores on standardized testing (all very useful) but in far too many cases that is what it has turned into. So we become patterned in our thinking and our 'genius' potential never tapped.

And so a population that doesn't know how to truly think differently (do you ever bother to 'steel-case' an opinion you disagree with? Why not? Do you actually compare and contrast, actually bother with finding source material than pre-digested pablum? And so on.) has little ability to allow our own curiosity to lead us. This understanding about the importance of how we think matters even more today than ever before because with today's digital algorithms across the digital information-sharing world, most of us are highly susceptible to being easily and regularly manipulated to someone else's ends and not our own (because how we think can be revealed in the digitalized mega-data of our behaviours and so patterns can be detected and used to profit others who can successfully predict what we need to see and hear to do something another can use to their own advantage. From economics to politics, from media to social engineering, we are bombarded with messaging into supporting stuff against our best interests and think ourselves 'free' to do so... in effect being manipulated in such ways for the many to be benefit the few.

The defense is to learn how to think differently so that what we OWN what think and are fully responsible for it. The benefits are many, not least of which is 'seeing' and 'recognizing' connections and patterns in a new ways and allow our potential genius of insight to surface.

    • As it is said, the schooling teaches you how to memorize dots, real education teaches you how to connect them.

I strongly agree that 'how we think' is of much importance indeed especially in this digitalized era, where your way of thinking can easily be manipulated, that you can't eveb realised that your thinking is being diluted.

Its a whole another big thing to think about.

    • Glad you think that (and hope you'll able to find whatever you're thinking)

      Thank-you Geoff.

  • My own definition of being a genius is having a photographic memory. I really adore people who have this kind of gift. ❤️

    • This is what I conveyed here. "We've all picturized a 'genius' in our own way."

Its good to see that you recognize and understand this.

      • Yeah😅 and I really appreciated how you defined genius in your own way and many people now are considering they are really Indeed a genius. 💯 Thank you for the empowering words this morning.🥰

        • Haha!
Though I just defined some rarely uncommon qualities that might indicate the uniqueness, geniuses.
But only you know better about you.

          Thank-you for the kind words.

  • Oh I love this Ritish. So many great fun pieces of wisdom here!!! fun post as well!💖💖

  • Listening is often overlooked as a skill. But how many people are great listeners? Thank you for pointing out the exceptional nature of that quality 🤗

    • Definitely, hearing is a ability while listening is a skill. I suppose good listening somewhere gives you advantage over others.
And Im still working to improve my listening skills.

      • It takes some time to cultivate but you’ll get there! For me the biggest hurdle was unlearning the impulse to respond when people are speaking. People rarely want advice, they mostly just want to feel witnessed.

  • The only way I’ve ever been called a genius is sarcastically 😆 Informative post!

  • You nailed it. We are all geniuses in a way or the other. I never knew l was a writer until recently. Just abusing my talent. Thanks for the post.

  • Fantastically absorbing and fascinating post!! And also pretty relatable. Thank you for sharing this - total brain food ☀️

    • Glad you relate to this.
There are others brain food posts too. Hope you'll like them too 😀
