Responsibility in general definition means the ‘ability to respond’ to things that are not determined by us. These are those things that are not predefined in nature, often appear instantaneous, and evaluate how we concede to them.
Have you ever wondered? Why our parents are so mature? And why do they want us to be mature in life as well? Have you ever thought about- what can be the reason behind their solemnity?
Though we always have a lot of issues with their sobriety, always try to bypass their lanky lectures. However, these are their good threats, devotion, or whatever you call them because they never want us to be unsuccessful, they want us to be responsible and to be in the driver’s seat on our life journey so that we get to know how the life battle actually feels like.
The strong reason behind their solemnity is that responsibility doesn’t wait & care about time, age, gender, place, or how much capable or incapable we are. It can happen to anyone at any age, at any time, at any place. That sounds scary, right? So, they want us to be cultured so that we can easily come out of any unwelcome situations.
Our parent’s life is full of responsibility, from nurturing us to clearing the dues, giving taxes, sacrificing their desires, job, and immeasurably more. From sunups to sundowns they finalize many duties which we never consider and appreciate because we don’t realize. That’s the reason behind their maturity.
Well, it’s an example of How responsibility makes someone enough mature so they can cope with their hardships. Now, come to the point who is a responsible person? How can responsibility be such a big thing?
How Responsible Person Finalize His Responsibility?
Every privilege comes with a responsibility. If you don’t take responsibility, you will lose the privilege.
Sadhguru
The meaning of the above excerpt of “Sadhguru” is that for becoming a successful person and to celebrate every freedom you have to be accountable for yourself. Instead of complaining about the challenges, you have to respond positively to whatever is in front of you.
As I said, taking 100% responsibility for your life will move you to the driver’s seat of your life journey. Bypassing all the obstacles, and barriers, moving along with the bad weather, overpassing the opponent, but one day you will reach the destination.
Being a responsible person, you don’t have to control how people respond, but you must have control over how you respond to others.
A Responsible Person Takes Responsibility
A great indication that you are becoming a responsible person is taking accountability for the challenges that come in your life. A responsible person neither blames others for their faults nor makes any excuses when going gets tough.
Never questioned – ‘God why me?’ Rather than always being ready to fight back against undetermined circumstances. And simply says, ‘I’m all ready.’
He remains so optimistic every time, never excuses himself for bad manifestations, looks confident, and preponed his work. They usually admit their mistakes and show enthusiasm to enhance themselves. All I can say is they are a very good learner.
They Don’t Rationalize
They have an incredible ability to stick with their plans. For instance, all successful and powerful individuals like Warren Buffet, Mukesh Ambani, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Ma, and not to mention, Elon musk.
They maintain their schedule very tightly controlled if they want to wake up earlier they will do so. If they have planned for saving or reading a book they will accomplish it even more impressively.
A responsible person never left any justifications for their work. These are the person who remains with their words. They are honest with themselves and the word ‘Honesty” is the keyword in their life. As Djordje Todorovic once said, “It’s better, to be honest than to make an excuse and back out”.
They Are Courageous
Many people do not want to take responsibility because of the fear of failure, but a responsible person will always show courage and fight the situation. Courage will give you the ability to keep aside your fear and encourage you to take the first step.
Why lion is the king of the jungle? Is it the most powerful? Is it the tallest? Is it the smartest? Is it the fastest? The answer is NO. Then why? Not the elephant, giraffe, or cheetah, the fox is the king.
Because the lion has the charm to setback his enemies. He shows courage whenever needed, whenever he is in hunger. He never complains to others about his food, his attitude makes him responsible, and his courage gives him the immense power to remain a king forever.
A Responsible Person Is A Close Confidant
A responsible person knows how to win the trust of others. Winning trust means they are always committed to the work and promise. They constantly complete the task on time. and carry out the promises. They know the seriousness of the situation and how to deal with it. That’s the reason you sometimes prefer to talk with your mature friend when you’re confused about something.
They have a very good routine means they work consistently. If you want to remember as a responsible human being, punctuality and consistency should be your new mantra.
A Responsible person Is A Honest Human Being
As I said above, Honesty is the keyword for becoming a responsible human being. Winning trust, and being accountable are all stuck with one thread which is honesty. Morality helps you in earning name, fame, money, and most important- respect.
We can also define honesty with loyalty, loyalty towards our elders, whomsoever are more experienced & senior than us. We can learn honesty from dogs. A dog teaches us how to be responsible to its owner.
When his owner gives him some treat he is wowed to become truthful to his owner in his entire life. He takes care of the house when everyone is sleeping, and he constantly singled out his owner as his enemy.
These can be the Identity of a responsible person and as I said responsibility is instantaneous. It never looks at your age, gender, time, or place. So what if it comes at an early age? When you are not enough mature?
When Responsibility Hits At A Very Young Age?
Now the question arises of what to do when you are too small and immature to cope with all the responsibilities. Should we run away? Or just leave the responsibility to others?
These are the general questions that come to mind when you get huge responsibilities at such a young age, It’s common to think about it, but you should know that it’s your chance to show what you are made of.
Because God always examines us by giving challenges, he knows that only a deserving one can fulfill the responsibility he has given. So first, you should exhibit some courage to face the challenges.
I can relate to this so much because when I was 18 my father left us and at that time I didn’t realize or thought the hardship and upcoming difficulties without him. Because that time everyone was there for giving me hope, they all had promised me that they will never leave us alone in our difficult times.
Some of them also provide me with their numbers to get in touch with them whenever needed. I was very confident and I appreciate their enthusiasm, I was hoping for the best. But unfortunately, that enthusiasm only lasts for a month or two.
I was waiting for them, I called them, and left a message for help but I didn’t get the same answers I was expecting and what they had promised me, where are 90% of them gone? I felt like I was alone again. I remember the sadness I saw on my mom’s face, though she never made me realize it before, always gave me hope, and little me convinced her. But this time, I get to know something.
That day I got to know that no one else will take your responsibility unless you are ready to take it. At that time I was studying at Delhi University and one foot remains in college and the second one is at home. My mind, thoughts, energy, and hope were all split up between my life, career, and my responsibilities.
My one hand remained busy writing exam papers and other clearing dues and legal cases. The unconscious mind keeps thinking about family and the conscious one is about career. One side of the heart keeps beating for family and another one for someone special. And still, it’s all my everyday routine.
One thing I have learned is that when you start taking responsibility you learned so many new things. You learned about true human nature, how to handle pressure, how to keep yourself calm and steady, and how to handle multiple things together.
I must say, I am not an achiever and not that capable yet to motivate you but according to the little experience that I’ve lived or living with responsibilities, I would like to say that, during this period you will face many difficulties, like, rejections, fear, irritation, but you just have to do a simple thing- ‘Have Patience’ and ‘courage’.
I made mistakes, and sometimes I still lose hope and feel so tired, but I made up my mind that I’ll keep going on and make my parents proud.
Because this is the thing we want from everyone but never want to try for ourselves. Just know and prepare your mind this way that you know how to deal with responsibilities, fulfill them with utmost honesty, without complaining, and most importantly, ‘have patience. You got this.
I raise a glass for every person out there fighting battles alone and going on taking responsibility on their shoulders. You are stronger than you realize. Period.

THIS a truthful and profound article. Thank you. When even one parent instils in a child a sense of self-worth and value this passes on to others and later on to their own children. This indeed applies to gender and racial issues. We would have less of this political mayhem if every child had a knowledge of self-worth and responsibility to ‘others’ not to SELF.

Well said faye, instilling moral values in child and teach them the importance of being responsible will help them to reduce the discrimination. If we all take our responsibility to become a good human being than most of the atrocities will be reduced immediately.
Thankyou for visiting.

Being a responsible person, you don’t have to control how people respond, but you must have control over how you respond to others. 💯
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I have learned these the hard way. I thought I can control how people respond but I have realized I cant and just move on and focus on my self improvement in that way I can control how I respond.

Indeed, you have to take your responsibility on your own. As i mentioned a lions mindset of taking care of himself made him so successful. So i urge everyone to be responsible.

Great post Deepak and I’ll just say that I can definitely relate with you, I know how it feels to become responsible at a very young age.
Responsibility …. No one knows how this word becomes part of one’s life. But this word also makes you Stronger than ever to fight against all odds.
Well, in this world everyone is struggling in different aspects of their lives. And what I have learnt from my experiences is – “Everything Happens In Our Life For A Reason, Either A Blessing Or A Lesson” (this is my favourite quote)
So, Responsibility is indeed a blessing. If not, then a great lesson to make you powerful.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Deepak. Keep Going 🙂

Wow… Such a thought provoking post. We often neglect our responsibilities and try to shoulder them away.
So sorry to hear about your father at such a young age. But the way you moved past all those things is truly that matters the most.
Many people promise help when we are in trouble, but when you actually contact them when in need, they try to stay away. So, we have to be accountable to our self 🙂😊
Thanks for sharing such a great post!! ♥️
July 3, 2021 at 10:37 am
Indeed, we are responsible for our own. Struggle is a part of life but how we tackle it its a matter of choice. Taking responsibility gives us many experiences which books cannot gives us, and it really helps us in future hurdles.
Thankyou for your appreciation 🙂

Very very motivating and much needed in today’s day and time when responsibility is becoming a virtue rather than an inherent side of who we are…thanks for sharing 👍🏻
July 7, 2021 at 6:38 am
I am glad that you find this motivating, yes responsibility is mostly passed by us because we don’t want to take that risk in our lives. But this is what gives us the best experience through which we may never be failed in our life challenges.
Thankyou for visiting

Freedom isn’t freedom from responsibility. You cannot avoid responsibility. Freedom is in fact the ability to choose our responsibilities. I believe the danger of not taking responsibility for ones life or not choosing what responsibilities to take on, is that someone else will choose those responsibilities for you.
3 simple rules. Give up blaming. Give up complaining. Be honest with yourself. You’ll go far if you can live by those three rules.
Great thought provoking article. Sorry to hear about what happened with your father. I think the way you “owned” what happened says a great deal about who you are.
Wishing you the very best Deepak Joshi 🙏

There is such good truth and wisdom in your writing. We must take responsibility for our selves and the ability to do this truly begins in our early experiences. Very nicely written.
July 16, 2021 at 2:20 am
Absolutely right, we have to take responsibility of ourselves and we can only learn from our own experiences.
Thank you for visiting 🙂
