Last week I had a genuinely fine day. Nothing broke, nobody was upset with me, no inbox disaster, no “we need to talk” text. And by 6pm I caught myself thinking, quite seriously, “okay, what am I forgetting.”

Nothing. I wasn’t forgetting anything. I just didn’t know what to do with a day that wasn’t asking anything of me.

I think a lot of us are like this and don’t really clock it until it’s pointed out. We spend so much of our time in some version of “waiting for the other shoe to drop” that when the shoe just… doesn’t drop, we get restless instead of relieved.

It’s not that we enjoy stress. Nobody’s out here rooting for bad news. But bracing for it becomes such a habit that when there’s nothing to brace against, something feels off. Like standing on a moving walkway that’s stopped moving. You still lean forward out of muscle memory.

Bracing is a habit that pays out either way

Part of it is just that bracing has worked for us before. You expect the worst, and when the worst doesn’t happen, you feel like you dodged something, even prepared for it. When it does happen, at least you saw it coming. Either way bracing pays out. So the brain keeps doing it, because why would it stop doing the thing that keeps working. It doesn’t really occur to it to ask “but what if there’s nothing to brace for right now.”

You can see this in small, dumb ways if you pay attention. Someone takes a while to reply to a text and your stomach does a little dip before your brain even finishes the thought “they’re probably just busy.” The dip comes first. The reasonable explanation shows up late, almost apologetically, after the damage is done. That’s not you being dramatic, that’s just the system doing its job a little too early, a little too often.

And it’s not only about disaster-proofing the big stuff either. It shows up in tiny ways like double-checking a sent email for the third time, replaying a totally normal conversation for hours, packing three backup chargers for a two-hour flight. None of that is really about the email or the flight. It’s the mind keeping itself occupied, staying “useful,” because an idle brain apparently feels riskier to it than an overworked one.

The brain isn’t great at recognizing safety

Here’s the part I find kind of funny in hindsight: the brain is actually not that good at clocking safety. It’ll spot a threat from a mile away, no training required, that’s basically day-one wiring. But “everything is fine” doesn’t come with the same alarm system. It’s not a signal, it’s an absence of signal, and absence doesn’t really register as anything. You have to sort of consciously go “oh wait, this is good, I should just let this be good” which is a weirdly effortful thing to do for something that’s supposed to feel effortless.

There’s almost no vocabulary for it either, if you think about it. We’ve got a hundred words for different flavors of stress like overwhelmed, frazzled, on edge, spiraling. Ask someone to describe calm, though, and most people just shrug and say “good, I guess.” Peace doesn’t have texture the way anxiety does. It’s just quiet. And quiet, to a mind trained on noise, can start to feel like something’s missing rather than something’s working.

So the brain goes looking for something to solve

So what happens instead, at least for me, is I go looking for a problem. Not on purpose. I’ll reread a message for a tone that almost certainly wasn’t there. Or remember some small thing from months ago and decide it needs sorting out right now, this evening, no particular reason. Give me a free hour with nothing pressing and I will, apparently, invent something pressing. It’s less “main character self-sabotage” and more like a dog with nothing to chase running in circles instead.

Sometimes it’s subtler than manufacturing a crisis, it’s just refusing to fully sit in the good moment. You’re on a nice trip and you catch yourself thinking about the flight back before you’ve even unpacked. You get good news and immediately start bracing for the catch. It’s not that you don’t believe the good thing is real, it’s more that some part of you doesn’t trust it to stay real, so it keeps one foot out the door just in case.

What I’m trying instead

I don’t think there’s a clean fix for this, and I’d be suspicious of anyone who said there was. But naming it helps a bit. When I catch myself doing the thing like turning a calm evening into a manufactured emergency, I try to just say to myself, out loud sometimes, “there’s nothing wrong right now.” Not in a mantra-y way. More like pointing at it and going, yeah, I see what you’re doing.

And then, if I can manage it, I let the evening stay boring. Let the peace be peace without making it earn its keep or prove it’s not a trick. It’s allowed to just be a Tuesday where nothing happens.

Still feels a little suspicious though. I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t.

Okay, so it started with a random Google search: “Why do pigeons bob their heads?”
You were just killing time before a Zoom call, not trying to understand the universe or anything. But one click turned into a video, which turned into a Reddit thread, which turned into a documentary clip about urban wildlife. Next thing you know, you’re watching raccoons break into a Canadian donut shop at 2x speed.

Forty minutes later, your entire algorithm is transformed. Facebook is showing you slow-motion squirrels stealing GoPros. Your Instagram Explore tab is suddenly 60% animal cognition and 40% existential questions like “are humans just fancy animals?” You didn’t plan any of this. You didn’t choose it. But somehow… it all feels kind of perfect?

And you know what, it’s not a coincidence, the algorithm picked up on that. It noticed your vibe shift before you did. You weren’t just curious, you were overstimulated. Underwhelmed. It saw the micro-flicker of hesitation in your scrolling, the half-second longer you paused on that raccoon video, and it understood that you need something real. Something raw.

(By the way, this incident really happened to one of the Insta users)

Every Scroll is a Signal

Let’s get one thing straight: you’re not just watching content. You’re training AI.

Every time you open your phone, you’re having a conversation with an invisible intelligence, not with words, but with gestures. A scroll. A pause. A double tap. That moment you hover over a post without clicking? The algorithm notices. It’s not just learning what you like – it’s learning when, how, and why you like it. And it’s writing a story. About you.

People often think that these apps always listen to you silently, but the rabbit hole goes much deeper. And here I’m just trying to show you how deep.

This isn’t some dystopian overlord situation. It’s not DARK. It’s way subtler, which is exactly what makes it powerful. You think you’re just killing time on Instagram, but the algorithm is silently mapping your emotions. It’s figuring out what kind of person watches productivity hacks on Monday, feels philosophical on Wednesday, and panic-searches “how to retire by 40” on Sunday night. It doesn’t just know what you’re doing. It knows who you are when you’re doing it.

And here’s the unsettling part: the algorithm cares less about who you are today, and more about who you’re becoming. That future version of you? That’s the gold mine. That’s the version it’s trying to shape, influence, and monetise. Not through brute force, but through perfectly timed nudges. Not an ad that yells, “BUY THIS,” but one that says, “This feels like you, doesn’t it?”

The Illusion of Choice

You might think you’re in control. Choosing what to click, what to share, and what to skip. But the illusion of choice is the most brilliant part. You’re not just a user. You’re a training model. The data point. The experiment.

Let’s say you open Instagram. You scroll. You like a post. You skip another. You rewatch a reel. All those tiny moves, they don’t feel like decisions. But they are. To the algorithm, every one of them is a vote. And it’s keeping score. The next time you open the app? It’s already reshuffled your entire feed based on who it thinks you’re becoming. Not who you said you were, but who your behaviour hints at.

Because the truth is, you’re not just consuming content. Content is consuming you.

Even worse? You don’t notice it. Because it still feels like a choice. It still feels like you’re steering the ship, even though the GPS has already decided the destination and quietly rerouted the journey.

And that’s the genius of it. We still think we’re the authors of our own experience. But most of the time, we’re just filling in the blanks.

Who’s Writing Whom?

Here’s the twist no one talks about enough: it’s not just that algorithms are learning from us, it’s that we’re unknowingly becoming the version of ourselves they’ve shaped us into.

You think you’re just tweeting something funny at 11:47 PM because you’re feeling quirky. But really? The algorithm already figured out the version of you that tends to post at night – a little tired, a little honest, maybe a little reckless. And it prioritises those tweets because your late-night posts usually get better engagement. So, guess what you start doing? Posting more at night. A bit more raw. A bit more unfiltered. And slowly, that becomes your brand. You didn’t plan it, the algorithm nudged, and you leaned in.

Now zoom out. The version of you who tweets. The version of you who shops. The version of you who scrolls at 1 AM. These aren’t entirely you by design; they’re also you by data.

The scariest part? You don’t feel controlled. You feel seen. It’s not a puppet show, it’s improv. But the stage, the lighting, the props? All pre-arranged. And the character you think you’re creating? It might’ve been suggested in the script all along.

So who’s really doing the writing here?

You?

Or the algorithm that knows you’ll want to sound just like you, only slightly cooler, slightly more clickable?

And You Thought It Was a Tool?

Alright, I’ll be honest – we were never afraid of tools. A hammer doesn’t tell you what you build. But algorithms? They’re kinda trickier. They look like tools, but they behave more like silent influencers.

At first, these systems were here to help. “Let me recommend a show you might like.” But over time, that helpful little nudge turned into a slow steering of the wheel. Now, it’s not just about what you might like, it’s about shaping what you think you like. Or even who you think you are. Spotify isn’t just playing music you enjoy, it’s curating your personality in audio form. The algorithm’s not guessing what you want; it’s creating the wanting itself.

[And it’s an actual fact: Spotify’s algorithmic playlists are built using mood prediction models trained on your listening behaviour, not just the genre, but when and how you listen]

And you adapt. Not because you’re weak. Because you’re human. We all want to belong. We all want to feel understood. Algorithms exploit that soft, beautiful part of us that just wants to be known, and turn it into an engagement loop.

How to Stay Human in a World That’s Predicting You

So, what now? Panic? Throw your phone out of the window? No, this isn’t about fighting the machines. It’s about staying conscious in a system that thrives on your autopilot.

Step one: just notice. Seriously, that’s it. Start spotting the moments where your feed feels a little too perfect. Question why that content makes you feel the way it does. Ask, “Did I want this… or did the algorithm decide I would?”

Step two: mess with the machine. Algorithms want you predictable. They love it when you scroll like a zombie. So shake things up. Be a little weird. Be unpredictable. Watch a video in a language you don’t speak. Follow someone who doesn’t fit your vibe. Basically, confuse the hell out of your feed.

Step three: choose your inputs. Instead of letting the algorithm decide what fills your brain all day, start curating your own mental playlist. Follow people who make you think, not just influencers who make you shop. Read something longer than a caption. Consume content that feeds your mind, not just your mood.

And finally? Remember that real life doesn’t need an algorithm to validate it. Go outside without your phone. Talk to people without trying to make the conversation tweetable. Do something completely unoptimized.

Because in a world that’s increasingly predicting your next move, staying human isn’t about going offline, it’s about staying awake.

[Shoutout to my friend who works in AI and robotics for helping me understand how these systems actually work, and what they might be doing to us without us even noticing]

“Patience is the key to success”, and “Have Patience! Everything will be alright”. These are the two most uttered phrases that we always heard, whenever we are anxious about something. Having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity inside you.

But, now let’s do a simple task, search for five people nearby you who are not anxious or in any serious trouble but living a balanced life. Seems hard?

You will barely find a person in your surroundings who can say that he/she is fully satisfied with what they have. Because finding someone like that is getting blood out of stone. Everyone has their own setbacks and needs more in life which is obvious, I mean, who doesn’t? But I find that the most troubled ones are teenagers who have lost their happiness in this advanced technology world.

The pressure of study, assignments, examinations, love life and the thrust of always looking better in the field have ruined their patience.

They don’t seem to settle and trust their capabilities. The envy of what others have and why don’t I are putting them into a loop of chasing where there is no such thing as ‘Patience’.

Even adults are now the most anxious ones in our surroundings. Their struggle to get a decent job, the stress of less salary, the pressure of getting married, family, inflation, and other societal pressures and materialistic things are completely testing their patience.

However, one age group that seems to be calmer and humble over tough situations is our senior citizens. The reason for their calmness is their experience to tackle situations throughout their life.

Another example of having patience is whenever we are in the exam hall invigilator always uttered looking at our nervous faces that “take your time”. They used to utter these words repeatedly so that we could focus on the present and might not get distracted. But often we assume it is wrong and wasted our time in the examination hall.

Having Patience Vs Wasting Time

According to Cambridge, Patience is defined as the ability to wait or to continue doing something despite difficulties, or to suffer without complaining about becoming annoyed, where any person would have experienced these emotions.

Patience helps us in direct control of ourselves. Patient people have a great sense of gratitude and improve their ability to accept disappointments and regain the motivation to become successful people. It helps in building confidence, perseverance, and a positive viewpoint on life.

Patience and wasting time are two different concepts, most people assume having patience means leaving things over destiny and seating quietly. Everyone faces failures in their life whether it is Elon Musk who failed multiple times in his life before becoming the richest person in the world and Zack Ma who was rejected in 25 interviews before incorporating Ali Baba.

One thing you will see common in successful people is that they always work hard in their life and they never lose their patience. They never sit quietly instead they work on their failure and continue their work by keeping serenity.

Often patience is misunderstood as wasting time as in both you are taking a moment of pause. However, if you try to understand, you’ll find that there’s a huge difference between the two. Patience means sharing some tender moments and not feeling rushed or pressured. On the other hand, wasting time is just about taking the pressure later on.

Being patient means you are waiting for your turn to come and wasting time means you are letting your turn go in vain.

A patient person is dynamic and knows exactly what he is doing and what it can lead to. But the people who think wasting time is the same as being patient are often stuck in the loop of finding, getting rejected, and thus hopeless.

It’s a human tendency that we want everything to be done in an instant. We have become more dependent on gadgets and instruments, which have made our life easy and reliable. But it’s also ruining our patience, for instance- when we order some food and it’s getting late in delivery at our door, we often become seem to be abusive towards the delivery man. We even do not bother ourselves to ask him why he got late to find a reason.

The Internet has made our life easy, we can send any message to our loved ones in a second. Also, we can watch whatever happening in the world just by sitting in our place. But what if the WI-FI doesn’t work for like an hour? I know you don’t want to imagine because it will still make you anxious. But, it’s hard to hear the truth. Our dependency has become so enormous that we just couldn’t live without it even for a while.

Stanford Marshmallow Experiment: The Art of Self-Control

Stanford Marshmallow Experiment was conducted by psychologist Walter Mischel professor at Stanford University. He tested this on children around 4-5 years old by offering them marshmallows on the table but under one condition.

His condition was that they can not eat the marshmallows while they were away. If they succeed to do so then they will be awarded a second marshmallow. The condition was like “one treat right now or two treats later“.

Some of them ate the first marshmallow as soon as the researcher left the room but some managed to wait for the entire time. It was published in 1972 and is known as – The Marshmallow Experiment.

Later researchers follow the studies and track each child’s progress which was known as the power of delayed gratification. They found that the children who have delayed enjoyment and waited for an award ended up having high social status and better responses to stress and better life measures. The research found that ability to control and have patience in life is essential for becoming a successful person. Must read:- Standford Marshmallow Experiment.

Where to Cultivate Patience?

As I said in the first para that having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration, so anywhere there is frustration or adversity, we have the opportunity to practice it.

In Daily Life – We take birth and die, but in between this we learn a lot of things in our life. Patience is one of the things which most people forgot to practice in their daily life activities. We are always in hurry to make something happen real soon without knowing the fact that everything takes time. Don’t expect the Eiffel tower to be built in a day, if it is, then it’s a scam. Have patience and trust the journey. Great things take time.

Whenever We Start Something New – In 2019, 90% of the startup failed during the year. And every year many new ideas came into the market and very few of them successfully manage to become a unicorn. The only reason behind their downfall is a lack of patience. Whenever we grow a seed it never becomes a big tree overnight, it takes several years when it gives us fruit. So, if you want to become successful you must not lose your calm and should stick with your goal.

Facing Failures – As I said, No one becomes successful over a night. They did a lot of hard work and never loses their cool during downfalls. Great things take time and come to those only, who can wait. There is no more powerful aid to success than self-possession. No one is perfect in this life, everyone does mistakes so no matter what difficulty you face, keep yourself calm and believe what you are doing.

To Control Anger – A typical impatient person tends to be imagined as face red, head streaming. They’re always filled with negative emotions. And it is so easy to point them out in daily hassles—traffic jams, long lines at the grocery store. This much anger and frustration are not good for them and their mental health. On the other hand, patient people tend to experience less depression and negative emotions, perhaps because they can cope better with upsetting or stressful situations.

Life-changing Benefits of Being Patient

Patience helps you in building smart decision-making. It improves your thought process and keeps you out of negative aspects which might fall you down. It helps us to remain calm and positive most of the time so that we could focus more on ourselves. Forbearance helps in remaining in the present moment without thinking about our past.

Patience helps you in increasing your strength and makes you an optimist. It helps us in fighting the situation courageously instead of worrying. It makes you strong not from the outside but on the inside. You can better at being patient

It helps us to remain happy in our life. Patience helps us focus on the things which are in the present rather than crying about the things which are out of our control. Baylor University psychologist found that “People who are more patient also tend to be more hopeful and satisfied with their lives. They are less likely to be stressed or depressed or experience health issues”.

I’m practicing patience for over several years now, and I must say that it gives me a whole other perspective and courage to deal with the situation. Now I reframe my thinking about given circumstances. I try to put myself in others’ shoes or situations before judging and concluding my decision.

Patience is a skill that teaches you how to be calm in the face of a frustrating situation. It makes you stronger whenever you learn to sustain your emotions. Patience is a virtue for success, those who learn to control it reward them as success in return.

So, what do you think about being patient? Let me know down here.

In one of my previous articles, I explained why you should write? And amazingly, I just realized how writing or blogging actually affects my brain and neural activity.

After consistently blogging for more than 2 years, I looked back and realized the enormous change in my thoughts and brain functioning. I don’t know if I’ll be able to explain to you what actually I felt like now. But surely it seems to be a positive one.

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, writing stuff is the most prominent way to throw light on your witty wisdom. It also describes your brain’s thoughts and the way you think of a situation or an event.

Brain’s thoughts are innumerable but some say an average human brain can think up to 7000 thoughts a day. But of course, most of them only serve anxiety and negative emotions. However, the time you pen down these thoughts in a profound way, it serves as a calming, meditative tool.

Even the research found that the stream of conscious writing exercises, in particular, has been identified as a helpful stress-coping method.

I can assure you that this research is working for me at least. And I know many of you would agree that writing down thoughts is indeed a genuine way to pacify brainstorming.

When I was unaware of this writing therapy and was bottling up my ideas, I was always surrounded by anxious thoughts. But from the past 2 years, I comprehended that through writing you can easily structure your amorphous concept. I’m still isn’t that perfect, but now I feel way better than before.

Let Your Brain Thank You

There is research that shows writing affects the brain and increases neural activity in the same way, similar to meditation. It can be a powerful meditational practice. The first time I started writing consistently or you can say a ‘Free Writing or ‘Brain dump’, it was all too disorganized. Firstly, there were a number of thoughts that came to my mind too rapidly.

It was impossible to write them down. Some thoughts just escaped from the brain entirely. I tried to write as fast as I could. The one that I did grab wasn’t perfect for writing.

But with time, I get to know that it’s all a practice that we learn every day. As little as 10 minutes of writing practice a day can reap great benefits. You don’t need to rush instantly.

Writing gives your busy brain something to do, something to execute rather than just thinking. It is so effective that even your brain will Thank You.

How Does Writing Improve Your Brain? ‘The Influential Angle’

Writing can be influential for you the same way it is to the readers. Powerful writing can plant an emotion, an idea, or a thought into the brain of the reader.

When you tell a story through writing, it creates a sense of synchronization between the words and the reader’s imagination. They start imagining those characters or the moment while reading in their brain. Princeton University concluded that the brain of a person telling a story either by writing or speaking and the brain of a person reading or listening to it can synchronize exquisitely.

Don’t want to include it, but in scientific terms, the part of the brain that is associated with reading and writing is called Frontal Lobe. It’s a weird name but you should know it.

Change in Perspective

After writing several articles or blogs I have a positive outlook and a kinda divergent perspective of seeing the situation. The perspective urges me to write it down and share it with you before it dies prematurely.

This perspective wasn’t there if I go back in time. It’s a newly developed skill that I acquired because of writing. And, I feel happy I’m able to earn. I won’t say that I’m perfect, am excellent, as I’m not. And perhaps, it’s a never-ending learning exercise.

But it’s good to think that I’m walking that path that insists, I see things differently, to have an appreciation for something undervalued.

I can’t believe I’m the same person who was afraid to write even 50 words essay in school. And now we have written over 100,000 words since the inception of Aspiring Blog. It’s just so crazy to think about, isn’t it?

The other thing that sets behind it is the reason or something worth writing for. We all procrastinate a bit when it comes to doing. The same goes when you write steadily for days. But when you know you have an audience, a bunch of readers who read and engage with your work, you are bound to do that.

It may seem difficult as you have to muscle up your brain to come up with ideas, but it is all worth it at the end of the day. It not only gives a brain a space to think out of the box but may also lead to an idea that was hiding in the unseen prison of the brain.

Many times I feel like I don’t have anything to write, I’ve said everything. This feeling I have had for the past 1 year. But interestingly, a random thought comes to my mind anytime anywhere that makes me so excited to write it down. It again filled me with the same energy. It’s a strange phenomenon that perhaps only exists because we write.

This all makes me realize how writing affects the brain. How have I changed since then? Does it really make my mind free? And, I would like to know does it affects yours as well?

Let me know in the comment.

“Thank you beta(son), I pray this Diwali brings you all the happiness in life and all your wishes come true”, she said to me that day. An old quavering voice full of hopes and happiness, deep enough to remind me that money really can buy you happiness too.

I remember, that day I was returning home very frustrated in exasperation due to a heavy unfinished workload. I was really upset with myself. On a way back I stopped at a red light where I met this old lady.

She came up to me, carrying a heavy bag on her shoulder wearing tattered clothing and a skanky veil on her head. But like everybody else, I completely ignored her.

Even so, her appealing calm voice compelled me to look at least once at what she was trying to sell. And I was really amazed by what I saw.

She was selling hand-made decorative items for the Diwali celebration as the festive season is going on in India. She was also holding some diyas (oil lamp usually made from clay, with a cotton wick dipped in ghee) on her head and shivering left hand.

I was wondering that she spends her entire day in a hope that someone would buy her hand-made items. She didn’t choose to beg, instead, she chose to work hard. That really got me.

And I’m glad that I purchased some of those items. As I wore a helmet, so she put her hand on my shoulder and blessed me like her own son.

When I returned home there was a smile on my face. I realized that I didn’t buy these items, I buy happiness for myself. I felt so much positivity around me that all my frustration just evaporated in front of my eyes.

I know we are often told that money can’t buy happiness which remains a fact but whatever happened to me that day always makes me think from a different perspective too. It clearly says that money really can buy you happiness if it is spent well.

After spending money to buy those items, the happiness I saw on her pale-faced was something out of this world that we can never imagine. Only people who are deprived of basic human needs and lack these things can understand.

Money and Happiness are Exclusive?

You often see or hear that people with lots of money can be depressed because they can’t buy happiness from the money they hold.

But it is also true that lower/middle-class people can also be depressed because of a lack of money. A study in 2012 revealed that people in poverty had more health problems & depression.

Many of us go through life with the pursuit of money on our minds. Having money means you can buy that joyous moment of life that you really loved.

So how far this saying “Money can’t buy you happiness” truly makes sense? What do you think? Is there any correlation between money and happiness? and if so, what we can learn from it?

In both situations mentioned above, the love factor is missing in both of these situations. The love for yourself and the love for others.

The study shows the actual problem lies in the way that we spend money. There is research that shows that spending money increases your happiness if it’s spent in a way that works for you and your personality.

But, there is one more piece of research that shows that spending on other people will make you even happier than spending just on yourself. Spending something on others is one of the important aspects to gain more cheerfulness.

I can relate to it when I spent some to buying those items from that old woman. Now, every time I think about it, a line from the movie- “Pursuit Of Happiness” comes to my mind:-

This part of my life, this little part is called happiness.
Chris Gardner

Just Another Saying-

There is so much reality that exists to ruminate all day. But always try to think about it from a different perspective too. It may change the way you think and bring out the best in you.

Likewise, we are often told that:- “Empty-handed you came, empty-handed you’ll go”.

But what truth is there in the saying? I mean, everybody knows it. It’s a universal fact and nature’s law. Therefore, It doesn’t matter how much we’ll take with ourselves, but it matters how much we left behind.

Because we earn for our family too. Don’t we?

Related Post- Why do proverbs/idioms are lies?

Money Paradox

Over the past quarter-century, economists and psychologists banded together to sort out the money paradox problem. The new scholars start with a simple insight that the whole money thing is a paradox.

The more you have it, the more you want and the less effective it is at bringing you joy. But the lack of having it, the more effective your problem is. There is a long debate about whether money can really buy you happiness or not?

If you don’t believe that money can buy happiness then ask those who lost their loved ones to a disease that they could not afford the expenses,

Ask the father whose daughter has been tortured for dowry,

ask the person who sleeps on the street,

ask the lower/middle-class boy or girl who loves to travel but has to give up,

ask the ragpicker guy,

ask the person who faces the harsh reality of poverty.

It’s true money isn’t everything but money can buy those things for you that bring happiness, even if for a moment only. Nothing lasts forever but the smallest happiness, that is what life is.

So, those who say “money is just a scum of hand”, Perhaps are either rich or haven’t faced the harsh reality of the world yet.

Here’s How Money Really Can Buy You Happiness

If you want to know how to use money to become happier, you need to understand just what it is that brings you happiness in the first place.

Doing than Having– Doing things can bring us more joy than having things. Because it’s a tendency to grow bored with the things you acquire.

2. Go for Life experiences rather than materialistic boost. You need more in your life than passive pleasures. The satisfaction you get in the end is greater than what you can get out of more passive pursuits.

Gilovich says that people define what is and isn’t an experience differently. The happiest people are best at wringing experiences out of everything they spend money on.

3. Try counting your blessings. Those who know how to cultivate the feeling of gratitude are happier, healthier, energetic, and more optimistic.

4. Joyous moment. You can’t go to the store and buy a bottle of happiness for $50, instead, you can spend money in such a way that brings a smile to your face. Happiness is the result of things that we do and having money allows us to do that.

5. Spending something on others is also an important aspect to gain more happiness. Instead of walking to a 5-star restaurant alone, try spending some amount in a small restaurant with loved ones.

You can find a lot of reasons on the internet- why money can’t buy happiness. I also have reasons to believe that and so you do. But once you find that good experience, then you’ll start rethinking it again.

How much money a person needs to be happy varies depending on how much is required to cover your own basic needs. Money can increase the potential for life satisfaction depending on how you spend it.

Now, what do you think? Is there anything that makes you think that money you hold can buy you happiness? Or, the whole money thing is just a paradox because we’re never satisfied. Comment below.

Running out of time is probably the world’s biggest problem and no one is solving it. Perhaps, it’s the thing that can’t be solved simply because obviously, we can’t control time.

That 24 hours we have in a day or more typically 23 hours 56 minutes seems isn’t enough to carry all our daily and crucial work. Every work we perform in between lifting our head off the pillow and then putting it back doesn’t give us that happiness and satisfaction we have with our capabilities.

In a nutshell, it’s like we are completing but not finishing.

I thought about it, while I was on a short break from writing. And I found a very interesting fact that I’ve experienced often and possibly most of you have. Still figuring out if it is a phenomenon, feeling, or whatever but it frequently happens that sometimes the amount of work being constant behaves clashingly every day.

Let me explain in a simple way- Suppose that the same amount of work falls on both days, one when you are able to finish it and one when you don’t. It’s not always clear why this happened but clearly, time is not the culprit here. Perhaps it is the way we pursue work that we do constantly every day.

We all live in a competitive environment especially if you are from the city, everyone loses no time. Everyone is doing something in a determined way. Your friends, colleagues, and competitors all are busy doing or becoming ‘this’ or ‘that’.

It simply makes us feel compelled that to run a race we have to put in our maximum. That seems the only way. Though instinctively you know that you are trying your best, unfortunately in a moment it gets dominated by the outcomes of comparison.

Through comparison, the perspective is promptly picked up by forces that are not our own, and simply dilutes our way of pursuing the task. Because we feel that others’ ways are way more prominent. And most probably this might also be the reason why sometimes the same amount of work behaves irrationally.

The List Makers’ Misfortune

What most people usually do in these situations is make a list to carry out their daily work in a timely manner. Every task is now governed by time-bound. I tried this several times when I was in school but always failed to keep up with that.

It might be effective for some who are able to follow their own guidelines, but not for everyone because there are certain limitations and cases that make this solution highly ineffective.

Making a schedule, timetable, list, or whatever you call it causes you to be fragile in a dynamic environment.

The list-maker people often end up doing things that aren’t the need of today, there might be other crucial things that must have been done before what you did according to the schedule you have made.

The art of prioritization and doing something out of the syllabus i.e., the schedule might be a good call to make you stop saying that you are running out of time. isn’t it?

So, why make the list when you really know that uncertainties are there? I suspect some of you might not agree with me here.

The Puzzle Of Time Management

In the scenario of time scarcity, it is likely that you’ve read about time management and skills.

Time management is a bit complex thing to explain to everybody as everyone possesses a different personality and deals with different circumstances. And moreover, I myself am not eligible to advise you.

But the thing that sets in is that time management is more of a change in personality rather than developing and learning a skill. Skills can be developed, but personality traits are really hard to change. So, instead of reading about time management skills on the internet why not acquire those sets of techniques that fit your personality?

Time management isn’t about doing something quickly as possible, it is about the time you can save for yourself.

In fact, if you are expecting greatness using time management skills, let me remind you that the definition of great is always changing as one keeps achieving greatness. No matter what we do, there’s always something more to be done in life.

Contradict With The Feeling Of Groundhog Day

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like you are living the same day over & over again? The feeling of being stuck in the endless time loop.

It is the feeling when routine work seems the only work to do. The feeling of having no time but having enough time.

Related Post- Why Everyday Feels The Same Sometimes?

If you’re familiar with this feeling then you know how eagerly we wait for change and something new in our life in the expectation of our amazing days.

Eventually, it ends up creating a contradiction. Because when we choose something new to do, it is not always that something does work right the first time. Everything takes time.

Knowingly we long to know what is just around the next bend and end up creating an unnecessary work burden.

The fear of scarcity of time somewhere also depends on the things you enjoy and things you don’t.

Take A Genuine Break

When you feel like the work is getting over you, it’s the right time you should go for a break, a genuine break.

Your body and brain need to get healed. I guess, this leads to more productivity than time management itself. So, stop saying ‘YES’ to everything, it is not always the default answer.

We are not giving ourselves ‘Time to think.’

Here surely we are running out of time- A time to think.

Time to think is the most scarce thing that we have in recent times. There’s a book written stating that-

“When people write history about the time we are presently living in. It will not be about the amazing technologies we had. It’s going to be about how the human race has never been bombarded with so many choices and options.”

Every minute we are fighting to focus on something. There are so many distractions around us that are equally demanding our attention every day every minute.

A Genuine break means a break from all the distractions too. Give yourself some time. Time to think. In fact, our brain comes up with better ideas and solutions when it is not actively working and away from distractions.

Next time you take a genuine break believe you aren’t wasting your time. You are utilizing it for future use.

Make Sense?

I hope it is.

I must say in the end – Time is running out but for you know what.

So, what’s your theory about the scarcity of time and why it feels like we are running out of time? Is anything different you are experiencing?

There are people who are asking the same question and need a solution.

An American author, Jodi Lynn Picoult wrote:

“You can always edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page.”

And to edit a bad page, you first need to create one. For that, you must write. But writing isn’t just a walk in the park, it is way more than what you think it is. Writing is undoubtedly filled with highs and lows. There are certain things you should know about writing. But before that know why you should write? Why writing is important?

Just imagine, what would be the world if there is no writing communication ever exist among us? All the ancient and legendary mathematicians, philosophers, poets, legalist, theologians & storytellers their work, stories, and verses would have been lost forever.

There would have been no history, no stories, no poems of war & valour, nothing. This world would be a void place to live in.

But so luckily we have that medium that can transmit our knowledge and work through countless ages. This made all the difference about how much writing is important. This is how we became the most dominant species on the planet. We are the only species that transmit our ideas/work across generations.

In fact, history exists because of the written evidence. All the information, rituals, practices, and beliefs we follow and that our researchers have been able to gather is only and only because of the fact that we have written scriptures from various ancient civilizations.

Simply put,

“Knowledge is accepted when knowledge is written“

This shows how important writing is and why you should write every day. Your stories, your fantasies, your experiences, your knowledge, your skills & your creativity, just write’em all. Who knows? that your perspective may change someone’s life and way of thinking. And for that people will always remember you.

For Example,

If you are a Harry Potter fan like me then you probably know about J.K. Rowling, the beautiful mind and source of fantasy behind this legendary movie franchise in the movie industry. She wrote something that is considered to be the most famous novel of the twentieth century.

J.K. Rowling drew a lot of inspiration from her life and the people she knew as she created this fictional world of wizards and muggles. But it wasn’t an instant success. She failed plenty of times. Publishing houses refused to publish her books, thinking it was trash, and no one would read them.

But she didn’t stop writing, she just kept doing it. And at last, she ended up creating something that welcomed us to the land of magic. It all became so realistic how old we become but still wish to get a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry each summer (still waiting for mine!).

It’s an inspiration that how J.K. Rowling went from a struggling mother to the World’s most successful author. This is the power of writing.

So, Why You Should Write Everyday?

Writing perfectly synchronizes your heart and mind. Writing is such a creative outlet to broaden your senses. It’s a perfectly balanced swirl and swing of the words to bring out a writer in you. If you love to write you know what I’m talking about.

Everyone has some untold stories or imaginations that fade with the passage of time. And trust me, there is no better anguish than bearing an untold story within you, to let it die prematurely with the transit of span.

The writing describes how free is your mind. Now, take a break, think for a while, grab your pen and let that wisdom be shared. Don’t simply leave those fantasies of your mind behind the unseen prison. Let them proclaim their independence, set them free. Let your words speak for you and for your imagination.

Start With A Blog Writing

Now you know why you should write. If you are thinking and ready to share your wisdom, I suggest you start with blog writing.

There are various blogging platforms that provide you the space to share your own perspectives. Some of the famous blogging platforms are WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, Medium, Weebly, and Strikingly. Get your free account and start writing.

You can opt for niche blogging dedicated to one specific topic like travel, fashion, food, health, sports, etc. if you have relevant skills and knowledge about the field. Otherwise, go for general blogging which is what most beginners do.

And obviously, you’ll face difficulties from the start and later on too. It hardens you in a way and polarises you. You’ll start thinking about each word before writing, thinking about the content, thinking about whether will people like it or not? You’ll recheck again and again to make it more relevant & insightful.

You will write a lot of things that make you cringe, you spend hours on editing and may fill folders with ghastly drafts.

Perhaps even after putting in all this effort and time writer’s written work may simply not match the perfection he has created in his own mind. The writer even rejects himself much before readers reject him.

But that is who a writer is. You can’t expect everything to go right. Writing is going to be much more of a challenge than you think it is, but that doesn’t mean you lose heart. You’ll grow, you’ll learn. Things can change quickly.

Here I mentioned some tips, for writing a good blog for a beginner, that I’ve learned now by reading articles, other blogger’s blogs, and myself. Though I’m not a professional by myself, I think it may help you if you have just started out.

Start small. You don’t have to write 1000 words. Once habit is in its place you can lengthen it.

Make simple, short & precise sentences.

Build up your vocabulary.

Use more active voice sentences than passive voice.

Try to keep your paragraph under 300 words to enhance readability.

Use more transition words.

Use sub-headings instead of long text.

Don’t use consecutive sentences starting with the same word.

Write compelling headlines.

Take your time and analyze it. Ask your friend for reviews.

Don’t get frustrated. If there are bad days there will be good days too.

You’ve got something to say so say it without fear of failure.

The most essential part of writing is editing. I read my blogs several times and every time I come up with better lines and vocabulary. Great editing that can rework terrible writing into a fantastic piece is a skill worth having.

Once you get into it you’ll start enjoying it. Write for yourself first and once you get started to believe then broaden your plans. Analyze and Know your audience and what they want from you. Remember, whatever reason you’re writing for, it won’t always be sunshine and rainbows. But if your passion and love for writing are as clear as a sunny day, then there won’t be any storm to stop you.

After getting some experience in the field of blogging, later you can go for writing your very own first Novel or E-book, sharing your experience, stories, and fantasies with the world.

With time you’ll learn the power of words and interaction with the audience. You just have to get started somewhere, not just to become a writer but for yourself too.

Here are a few other points that show Why writing is important? and why writing skills are important?

Why Writing Is So Important?

1. Improve Creativity & Imagination

Writing forces you to come up with new ideas regularly. Ideas are everywhere in people you talk to, in your life experiment, in things you read, in adventure, in music, in books & magazines. It improves the creativity & imagination of your mind.

2. Important For Students

We all have a terrible experience as a student in school while writing essays or brief paragraphs. Writing isn’t just limited to school it goes beyond school purposes. It’s the ability to explain yourself and eventually improve communication skills that’ll help you later in your life.

3. Improve Knowledge

Effective and compelling writing is necessary to get more readers. Every time you start writing you must have relevant knowledge, skills, and proper research to bring out the best in you. Writing requires knowledge.

Writing uses both sides of the brain, the right for creativity and art while the left is more logical.

4. Good For Introverts

Writing is surely a great way of communication for people who are too shy to talk and hesitate to express themselves and their feelings. But introverts are more reserved and thoughtful. They often see and observe the world in a completely different way. Their writing can inspire plenty of people.

Whether you are writing a book, essays, or blog posts, writing is a great way to get your voice out there without even actually saying it.

5. Pen Is Mightier Than Sword

We have been seeing how various diabolical groups are spreading hatred, false propaganda, communal tension, and distrust among each other.

Edward Bulwer Lytton, an English author wrote a proverb in 1839, “The Pen is mightier than the sword”, which shows writing being more powerful can achieve a lot more than a sword does. The power of writing is eternal.

6. Helps In Getting Job

Today’s digital age hasn’t reduced the need for writing. Business requires people with good writing skills for all online conversations, websites, e-mails, etc. If you can equip that skill at an early age then it’ll help you to get a good job.

Through writing, we can look into the past, write our present, and create our imagined future of fantasies. If you want to write daily, then you must make it a habit first. Write something every day. In time writing can flawlessly blend your fancy to fidelity.

Now, buckle up, rinse and repeat and let your thinking be made public.

I’m sure you have some pending drafts left to be completed.

Have you ever been in a situation continually where you feel like you are living the same day over & over again? Where it has a thought like you got stuck on a single day while your known ones are getting forward on time. I’ve been into such situations so many times and believe plenty of you too. Especially from the past 1 year after the pandemic hit us this way we got locked up in our houses and had nothing to do. Although the feeling of being stuck in an endless time loop is much before the pandemic.

Whether you are a job person, student, housewife, or retired, the feeling of being stuck in a time is common.

So, why does every day feel the same sometimes? There must be a reason, a scientific and a psychological explanation that can explain the inducement of our notion of living our boring routine every day.

If you aren’t familiar with this feeling, let me tell you that the person with such a sense develops a sense of routine work as the only work to do in their life. All the planning, adventures, and expectations they have with their human life seem to go down the drain. It’s the time when you feel empty space inside you. The feeling of having no time but having enough time.

Imagine a situation where a life cycle instead of going on a straight line is circling around on a loop. Now the thing is that you are living the same day time and time again, literally doing the same activities from the start of the day. It’s the Deja vu of Deja vu.

Seems, time has just broken for you or perhaps stop working anymore. Every time you cross the day, it comes around again the same way with all the default activities. Think of an episode that you watch every time where you can accurately predict what’s gonna happen next?

What Can Be the Reason Behind the Feeling of Your Groundhog Day?

On average, we sleep 8 hours a day which I think you must be taking. Now the remaining 16 hours is what we have left for all the activities and to explore life.

From lifting your head off the pillow and putting it back down and the time section i.e., 16 hours in between them is for all the regular stuff you do is what the normal life is, which is definitely kinda boring because it’s come over & over again.

There are certain things that we don’t like doing but of course, have to do in those 16 hours which is why we fantasize about future expectations.

We all tend to view our lives in a sort of narrative structure that we’ve been told and witnessed about the human life cycle. When we are born, there comes childhood, education, graduation, job, money, experience, adventure, and marriage, and this goes on and on. But you should know that these are life events and the highlights that you kept to tell others about your life.

If you come to the reality you find that what actually life feels like on a day-to-day basis is quite different and considered absolutely normal. Yes, life, in general, is pretty much normal. Your day-to-day experience is the dominant part of anyone’s life and is what you spend most of your life.

Although I agree that some people spend adventurous, exciting lives more often they are also a part of normal life, they also do their day-to-day activities every single day that we all do more often.

Our amazing days become our expectations and our normal days become boring just because our daily routine remains uninterrupted for several weeks and months. This is may also the reason why does every day feel the same.

It may also be social media, where everyone is doing fun things that you are missing in your life, which makes you even more stressed.

What You Can Do To Overcome This Feeling?
